Wierd how it wasnt in limp home mode with the old battery refitted.
Could be a throttle sensor fault-you may need to put a diagnostic reader on it.
Battery and alt seem ok, very odd.
Mick above has loads of experience on Clio sports, may be worth seeing if he has any more ideas.
Where about...
Really want a flamer, but it'll be a car for the winter, poss a track day and for me to tinker with in the garage
Guy selling it says he doesn't know when the cambelt was changed and it has the serv light (on its own) illuminated.
May have a look to tomorrow.
What would you pay?
Thanks, Ian...
Told me it was sold lol!
Read sunglasses post and thought it was a joke at first!
Perhaps I should email him and say 'hi, I know nothing about cars, is yours OK and can I buy it?'
Do you mean one of the sites that you send your resistor too?
If so, would use one of these, replaced the faulty component on mine for about £8 but it failed again.
As it was local, I wondered whether Fred had done it, hence the question! TBH, those are the questions i'd ask about any Clio sport I looked at, except possibly for the how long have you owned it one. I asked that as he has a van for sale and has sold a few cars going by his feedback!
Fair point, I reply to 99% percent of any email queries I get as you never know of it'll lead to a sale.
I don't like phoning as I always seem to get Arthur Daily or some crack head on the phone!
Imagine what reply I would have got on the phone with this guy?
That annoys the sxxt out of me. If someone says there's a dent in the door and scratches, then I know what to expect.
Looked at lots of mint 350z's that were sheds. The one I bought was advertised as stone chips and a scuff on the front bumper, honesty paid off!
Oddly I was looking at the back of the wife's 197 and my lads 200, not sure if the fixings are the same, but the rear bumpers look identical. Think the head lamps are different and hence the wings, but may be wrong.
How much fuel could you buy for the price of an LPG conversion?
Tough call for a 90 mile commute, if it were me I'd buy a 1*2 and leave it standard, you'll probably average 36mpg on a good run.
Banger would be a good option, but if you keep a nice car for the weekend, you'll end up with double...
I contacted this guy, seemed genuine bloke, was honest about cambelt needing doing. Would have a look myself but it's a fair drive and I don't have much spare time at the moment.
I did an apprenticeship at Land Rover back in the 80's and they were doing tests on Recaro seats for wear with a machine that had a simulated butt getting in and out the car, back then they rejected the seats as the material didn't stand up very well!
Leather trimmed seats look awesome!
It's the first local flamer to come up for a while, and ironically I'll be driving past it on the way to the kit car show monday-typical!
It's on Gumtree too, still for sale too.
TBH it quite upset me.
Looking for a flamer, found this add

Hi, got a few questions if that's OK?How long have you owned the car
Do you have both keys
When was the cambelt done and if poss by who
When was the...
Think the wiper mechanism spindle is steel and the wiper arm is ally, also pretty sure the splines on the spindle cut into the wiper arm as you tighten the nut up (messed with quite a few cars so may be wrong!)
If so, may be worth trying another wiper arm??
Lots of used wiper mechs about and...
