Arghhhh! Too many choices and different opinions!
i think it's a case of 'one man's meat is another man's poison!'.
I'm tempted by contis now! As I like them on the wife's car, but there're 2's,3'a and 5's same issues with p zeros, there're several different versions-what's the differences?
Speak to Adam at Renault Wolverhampton on here (think he's on holiday ATM) for genuine, take one off and take it to a motor factor or measure it and order one from eBay.
Its not uncommon for the likes of companies like euro car parts to give you the wrong parts, so if you can, take the knackered...
Hi, struggling to understand the first part of your thread, but could be a bad earth on the rear lights.
Door lock problem could be anything as your cars not standard, but you're looking for a broken wire somewhere by the sound of it!
They're on the UK ramair site, can't find them for sale, but they are included in kits.
May be worth a call?

Lol! Too true!!
It has half worn kumho ecstas on the front that aren't very evenly worn and to be honest, they grip really well, as good as I remember the zeros did!
I put Falken ZE914's on the front of my zed as the wet weather rating was an A even though everyone was saying fit Michelin moss...
As ive read somewhere on here, the tyre poll is out of date and there are a lot of threads about tyres on here!
I've bought a 172 to play with and it needs 2 tyres at least, but as I'm going to get the wheels powder coated, I've decided to buy a complete set.
Anyway, my old 182 had P zero's...
Ha! Had a 330ci a few years ago and loved it, wife made me sell it as it scared the cxxp out of her in the ice-she's never driven the zed. Had an mr2 and she parked that in a hedge.
Don't think she likes rwd cars!
Ian.
For anybody who's interested, they fitted fine, not sure about the quality, only time will tell!
Think they were 330mm end to end (sure that's the same as a standard 182 as well).
It does save a couple of hundred quid, but I want to do it for the satisfaction of being to be able to do it myself! I've taught myself/been shown how to do lots of things over the last 40 years from plumbing to car repair and to be honest, I enjoy doing it myself.
I have a tiny weep that I've at last found! Its on the back of the ally PAS pipe behind the gearbox.
It seems to be a common problem with a leak, but not sure where other people have had leaks from!
Replacing the pipe looks a sod, anybody any advice?
Leak is reflected in my dentists mirror...
Just had this problem on mine, tried greasing and moving the catch in the slam panel, in the end I cured it by greasing the slide of the bit on the bonnet I side the spring-shoots up now!
Somebody will be along soon about the tools, but it sounds like the can timing is out.
With the crankshaft locked the horseshoe tool should fit. Took me a while to get my head around it, but the cam wheels and crank wheel don't line up with any marks like some cams, with the belt and tensioner...
It goes new RS200, 182, 197 (wife's current car), RS200 cup (sold to my 20 year old a few months ago) and now a 172!
Picked it up for £900, 66000 miles and a recent clutch. Came with an airbag fault, plugged my diag unit and cured the fault within 45 minutes! Clayed and polished it, sanded and...
Had a Rover 827 many years ago (loved that car!), checked the lights (auto electrician by trade), they were all OK, car failed on no fog lights, checked it on the forecourt and they worked, was told it wasn't working at the time of the mot! Also failed on a split CV gaitpr, must've just split as...
Picked up the 172 today, Serv light was on with the airbag light. Reader said passenger buckle/tensioner open circuit. Fitted after market connector block, sorted!
Found a few more marks/dents and dephaser is a little noisy, but everything else OK.
Chuffed for £900!
Yep, bottom swivels, best way to check them is with the wheel off the ground, but not easy when you view a car.
Track rod ends and inner track rods fail too. Make sure cambelt is done, aux belt not as important as it doesn't run next the the can belt on the 197. Make sure gearbox synchros work...
We found that to be true on a few occasions!
If you're near Birmingham, Renault, I know a really good sales bloke, he's even picked our car up on his way to work and taken it in leaving his own car for us to use.
Just found this on piston heads, very dodgy.
Do yo think amelia (from the email address) is a 20 stone dodgy foreigner?
The 'recardo' seats are in good condition!
Went with green light, approx £330 with 1 year ncb (2nd car and they mirrored the ncb used on my 350z).
Could've got cheaper, but got good prompt service and spoke to somebody who seemed to know about cars and mods.
Fitted a couple to clios, as Mick said, sounds like the ignition feed and the permanent feed are the wrong way round-can be quite tricky to sort, but the manual explains it, otherwise you could do with a circuit testers to prove which is which.
Side impact are 2 pin grey connectors (only looked one side) with a white and a grey wire.
I've cut the plugs off for the seat airbags etc so can't tell you what colour they are-thought I,d kept them, but can't put my hands on them.
