Pretty sure on 1*2's you don't need a spring compressor. Also, when you remove the 2 bottom bolts, the hub will drop-be careful you don't pop the CV joints apart.

Are there no cut wires under the carpet or is this removed? You could get the airbag reprogrammed or if you can't find the wires, fit the 3.3 ohms resistors in the wiring behind the plug on the ecu .
