Same old service light and airbag light grief

The sunnroof leaked on my lad's clio, it was the side impact sensor that was faulty-you can't wire them out with a resistor, but they're a tenner posted from ebay!

    Fault reader for Airbag ECU

Glad it helped. As you found, it's a bit of a fiddle, but if you have some electrical knowledge and know how to use a multimeter, it's quite easy and a lot cheaper than taking it to Renault. Ian.

    350z to a Clio 172 or 182

I looked at 7 or 8 last year every one was covered in dents, badly resprayed tatty, but then i was looking to pay around £6k. I ended buying a 200 cup! Just phoned after one 6 miles away-sold-forgot to remove the add! My cup goes saturday and i don't know what to get-work is only 5 miles...

    Heaters

If you have climate, rheostat, if you don't, resistor pack. Check fuses, could be a motor fault too. Lots of threads on here if you do a search.

still having issues with flickering fog light

Basically, the fog light will be getting is power through the earth somewhere as the earth is not connected back to the battery 100% To cure it you need to clean all the terminals and connections and the bulbs of any corrosion. If you have an elecrical test meter, you can measure the...

    Clio 197 MPG

My wife has a 197 and drives 4.5 miles to work plus quite a few other short jorneys, she gets 27-29 mpg. On a run to devon/cornwall i got 39 on the motoway and averaged 34 over 1000 miles, my 200 is sat at about 28.5 average, short runs with the odd 20 mile blast. Must be the way i drive? Took...

Clio mk2 ph2 fusebox - live fuses when ignition is off

Buy a new volt meter or get a 12v bulb and a piece of wire! Otherwise, look at the fuse diagram for something that's on without the key in-courtesy light, radio etc Think putting you model on may help too!

    heater fan question

If you link pins 1 and 5 the fan should rum flat out, if it doesn't the fan motor is faulty. My rheostat went and i linked the pins out until i got another one. If it is the rheostat, best option is a repair on ebay, new they're over £100!

What has happened to my speakers?! :-(

Bloody tablet! Wou d have thought if the cable size is too small, they'd have started to get warm, i understand a small cable could cause voltage drop, but surely not at moderate volume levels? Is the head unit in mute mode So have you still got the standard head unit we can try? Did you...

What has happened to my speakers?! :-(

From what i understand from what i've read; The head uniit worked fine until the ipod was unplugged and the volume was too high The head unit works with a home hifi speaker (although diff impedance) Speakers work fine in car with home hifi connected directly, not through the car wiring, or...

    heater fan question

If you have climate control (electronically controlled fan speed) and it blows flat out or not at all, regardless of the speed setting, chances are the resistor pack/rheostat is at fault. To test it link pins 1 and 5 out on the plug that clips into the rheostat. If the fan operates...

    Intermittent Deadd Battery / Short?

Had a company car with a knackered battery, i had to jump start it every morning. Vauxhall tested it and said it was fine. persuaded my company to buy a new battery and it cured it. Battery advice

A clamp meter isn't as accurate as measuring in line with the battery. If it under reads by 50ma, there could be enough draw on it to flatten the battery over a few days.

Airbag light - tried connectors under seats already

Had the side impact sensors go on my sons clio (called satelites in the manual!) they were corroded due to the sunroof leaking. Should be picked up by the diag tool. When the auto elec soldered the wires, did he retest with the diag tool?

    Getting a spare key made?

Spares can be ordered through Renault and then programmed by Renault. Otherwise, like nashers says, some people can do this while you wait, but you have to go to them as they need to programme the key to your car.
