If you have a hair line crack in the copper it works ok, anything more it's rubbish.
I took the tint off my window and had gaps of up to 1cm in the copper, it was unrepairable
There used to be a mobile guy who made up seals and repaired sunroof leaks on here??
Fixed my lads with clear silicon and an girl at work repaired hers the same-there's a guide on here somewhere.
My stepson wants the wife's albi 197 or my 200 cup. Wide doesn't want to change the 197 so may let him have the 200.
Nearly bought a 350Z for £10k lasr week, glad I didn't! Looking at a ST220 for work and perphaps a mint 182 to keep in the garage and for shows? Gave up bikes this year and...
The mechatronic unit is usually the problem and costs atound £2500 from audi, however there is at least one company that repairs them but with removal etc it costs around £800. As cars are getting older, there're lots more failures, saying that, a lot o newish cars fail too.
I took a warranty...
Full access to cctv, there's only one camera in the car park and its pointed at the car park entrance. Thought the gap would prevent someone hitting the car, reckon somebody thought 'a big gap there i can get my push chair out!'
I work as a maintenance engineer for a large supermarket. As it's our busiest time of the year, I've had one day off in 2 weeks as well as a couple of call outs, so I was looking forward to a few days off!
I walked out of the door only to be called back as there was a big problem with the cash...
The point i'm trying to make is that i drive a 200 that's had a replacement box already, if it fails it'll cost me £600 to repair it, my TT had a dsg box and i was paranoid if it did something odd or made a strange noise!
In comparison, the clio is less of a worry as it:'s potentially cheaper...
Drive an Audi with a dsg box! There are less failures but the mechatronic unit is not cheap to replace!
I had a look at a cheap 197 in the Spring, turns out it was the one Tiff Needel test drove fory fifth gear, it ,was a nail!! It was cheap for a reason and the guy's story for selling it...
When the wife had a 182 I kept topping up the washer fluid and blamed her for using the washers too much! Felt guilty when i found a leaking washer!!
Fitted the valves and never had another problem. I read somewhere that the washer cracks due to age and the cold weather freezing the water in...
Just to throw a spanner in the works, i left my card in the wife's 197 and the wife locked the car with the door button and her card in her purse.
10 mins later i remebered i'd my left my card in the car, so ran out and tried the door, it wouldn't open. I had to get the wife's card to open...
I've read that putting the card in the slot charges an 'internal' battery?? Tried it on the wife's and it cured the card not detected problem!?!
Had the same problem okn a megane cured by putting the card in the freezer! Took the card apart and there's a coil on the pcb that had come loose...
As above, you really need to jack the wheel off the ground and push/pull the wheel vertically amd horizontally, even better, get a mate to do it while you look around the suspension joints. Don't forget to support the car in case the jjack fails though!
It doesn't look like it was threaded in very far for a while?? Plug gap looks a bit wide too!
Hopefully the plug threads are still ok, but would have thought the (alloy?) head would have stripped first??
Hi, I have a clio 200 cup with a steering wheel that the 'leather' is peeling off.
On ebay, somebody is selling a gordini wheel new for £120 but it has cruise switches.
Anybody know if they can be removed and the cup air bag fitted the same as you can with the 182 Clio?
Cheers, Ian.
I've got the bergen tool, i bought it to do my old 182, it's since been used on a Trophy and my 200 so starting to pat fot itself.
Anybody near Solihull wants to borrow it, drop me a pm.
Ian.
Renault cust svs were pretty fair with me and my 200 was 11 months out of warranty, they could have just sais no!
If my box went, I'd have a word with one of the specialists like fred or mick and get them to fit one of the ebay boxes, cheaper and probably a better quality job!
My RS200 had a new gearbox approx 9 months ago under warranty from Renault.
Reverse and 1st and difficult to engage when cold, but loads better when warm. So, after searching some threads and getting several different answers, what's the best replacement oil to use?
