only reason renault stuck a turbo on it in the first place was for economy as the engine it's self is sh*tty underpowered.

with regards to the coolant type, if your planning on putting renault type D coolant in, you will have to flush the whole system out so no more of the red/orange coolant is left.
mixing coolants is a NO NO , unless you want to have fun removing sludge from coolant tanks ect.

hmmm, all being that you have aligned the clutch properly. all i can think is something allong the gear selector rod or any gubbins that help change gear , has something fowling it. get under the car and check nothing like a bolt is stopping the whole lot from moving. should spot it a mile off...
