Will just be lack of assistance, whether it be from the Pump or the EPAS unit. It's fine to do so with the engine off though, recently bled my PAS fluid system with the engine off.
I thought it was worth suggesting, I've not seen one with a single connector and I've worked on a load of netbooks/laptops/desktops for HP.
With the nature of the issue it was a longshot as it would be more intermittent.
Have you had any luck with the RAM Emily ?
If you where nearer i'd check it for you :(
Look's like it will need to be passed on to somebody but im sure that network cards meant to have 2 plugs ;)
Odd's are it's just fubar RAM though - if you had another laptop handy they all tend to use 200 pin 555/667 RAM so you could swap them over.
Looks like it's the main that's connected, this could perhaps run on a single antenna cable (it would be the 1st Iv'e seen) They normally stem down from the monitor.
When you mention the flashing cursor, I suspect it's the waiting to type style icon. Sounds like it's failing to POST. Next step...
They are normally tucked away - might be able to find it if you dig about...
your wireless isn't caput by any chance ? (Assuming you don't use a plug in dongle)
looking at that photo, it seems to be missing a lead on the card inserted in the left - typically it has one white and one black (You can see the golden connector where it presses on next to the white)
My guess is the lead that's disconnected is flailing around causing parts of the mobo to...
On a related matter, I assume any ring terminal will do - Mines just snapped off and all I could find was a one rated to 25A - tried it and it didn't melt but the battery lights coming on and off intermittently.
I thought the pic's looked strangly familiar, it's home LOL Hopefully have the PH1 on the road by then so might tag along again ! Turn out last time was mega
If it's freezing in the bios it wont be the HDD, that's possibly relating to the RAM or the processor and or motherboard failure.
RAM's a solid shout, specially if you have some spare :)
Looks like I was foolish in thinking the screw/bolt holds them in lol tried to do mine with a set of adjustable grips and left it in the end - properly wedged in.
Mine deserves it, f***'s off as soon as something hostile shows it's face then I have to spend 40 mins looking for it's ass while lugging twice my carry limit...
