He let me loose in the last one so I'd hope so.
The reason we chose to dip before the cage was installed was to avoid any acid getting trapped. The guys have drilled a couple of holes to help it drain out too so fingers crossed it will be fine. The downside of sand blasting is it doesn't clean...
Spending all my sodding inheritance! Not a bad way to do it though.
Dipping means, putting the shell in a big vat of acid to remove all the paint, tar, underseal etc to get it as light as possible.
Sorry I meant to Cayman not Boxster :o
Just ordered the heated front screen and spec'd the air jacks.
Eco dip/Enviro dip can't remember, Specialist Vehicle Preparations are organising it.
Hi guys,
As some of you will know, we are racing a Porsche Cayman S this in Production Porsche, Britcar and possibly GT Cup/Trophy.
The car:
2006 Porsche Boxster S 3.4
60000 miles FSH
Poverty Spec
So the spec so far:
Dipped shell with custom cages cage
GT3 Front wishbones
GT3 front and...
Saw this yesterday, it looks superb and tiny! When you look closely you see all the tunnels, fins, and flicks in the body work to control the airflow. The brake disks are stunning too with a slight blue hint to them.
Seriously, the GT3 spec is outrageous. If the headline figures are anything to go by its going to be one hell of a sports car.
I'm going on Friday as a guest of Porsche, although I may be removed by security for licking that GT3.
Standard calipers can cope with stopping full on race cars, the only advantage of 4 pots is easier modulation and cheaper pads but not by a lot.
RC5+, DS2500/3000, Mintex etc plenty of pad options. The only disks to have really are Brembo HCs
