Its all metric but the tpi (threads per inch) are funny on some bits, same with most manufacturers.
And Renault like to use fecking m7 thread for some reason on sump bolts and oil pump covers etc.
I have a basic Draper set at home which has been alright to me, I tend to just ask my mate for certain sizes from his work when needed. Renault have some funny tpi on certain things too.
Good taps and dies are ££'s.
Golf mk3 rad with a few pics of needed mods, I didn't get the lower outlet changed although I might in the future, still works with it straight.
Mike how much fans have you used? I have two 10" but thinking it will be overkill now.
They're not magical but for £120 they go for and the fact they're likely to need replaced every couple of years maybe more in Motorsport they're ideal.
Loads of Clio racer/trackdayers using them with no issues I have heard of.
For a factory/works team or if I was loaded I would like something...
Nankang NS-2R or maybe Dmack "track day tyres" if you want to try a cheaper alternative that are getting good reviews. Or the more trusted Yoko AD08 and Federal RS-R.
Then there is the proper semi slicks above that...... 888's, dz03, a048r, MPSC.
Yeah that's the ones, loads of different sizes available on them golf mk3 rads. You will have to make custom mounting brackets and measure before you buy..... as said there is loads of sizes available and some can't be used with hydraulic PAS due to hitting pump/high pressure pipe.
I plan to do it on a four poster ramp so you can adjust and measure at the same time, much the same as you would with camber adjustment bolts.
I can't see any other way than constant on and off of the wheels or making a gauge after its initial setup via the route above and referencing that...
Depends what you class as competitive, 260bhp/800kg? Are clio's really as bad to tune than is made out..... I would say no. A reliable 215bhp , 180-90lbft for 4k easily buying new isn't a massive amount in my book.
Up to a certain level they can't be beaten for bang to buck.
Well your definately old enough to qualify for their insurance if they have any, I would presume they do having a courtesy car. Usually a signature from you and a phone call their side is all it takes.
That cop cars are brilliant, the Lambo has the press car plate on it?
The Scoob could just be a fast response vehicle, 4wd is more reliable for getting to most situations and they arent slow.
We used to sell the fire service fast response 4x4 and 6x4 trucks that were unlimited and could get...
No problem, its the same situation when the brake pads wear down. I have tested the calipers on 24mm disks to make sure the caliper pistons will not fall out or over stroke.
Also my 172 cup (uk car) has a better pedal feel too with the 197 Brembo callipers over the o.e.m caliper.
If your looking for d-clip fixings then sabelt will supply them for a few pound each and you might need the lock bars too if your converting from bolt type.
I still don't know why I ever sold this :(. It had every option ticked from the factory, the build sheet was found under the carpet during an overhaul, only panel changed was the drivers door due to some t**t knocking into it.
60k miles too and it got sold to be used as a daily...
