This is some poor footage but gives you an idea of their handling characteristics and close racing, you just slide them everywhere.

A few parting shots
Finished standardising it today including new front disks/pads, exhaust and new steering wheel. Kicked its head in, gave it a rinse and then gave it to my mate :(
The camber stayed though haha.
Will do, as long as its a classic shape I would be happy. A guy up beside us races a classic shape with 10" wheels, straight cut hewland box, 1275cc iirc and its fleet, sounds the part too.
Sounds expensive that :S
I would love to race a classic shape mini after watching the mini festival at Brands. Something to look into next year, I want to have a drive in a one make championship and I can't think of better than that or Scottish minis just now.
Yeah I do know they fetch good money, especially some of the more original cars.
For me it would have to still be a mini with front and back subframe just for the way they drive, sliding everywhere.
As nice as z cars are they are basically a kit car with a mini shell and defeat the purpose for...
Steve what would something like that cost? I don't know minis but that sounded like a really nice spec to go racing with, I have to own one at some point on 10" wheels after seeing them racing.
I lol'd at 3 piece 10" wheels, is that possible!! Haha
ALL callipers I have used or seen have built in room for when friction material fails on both pads and then some so you'll be fine with 2mm.
10mm I would be worried about.
Yeah I'm not for spending 2k-2.5k on a camera and data logger when the cheapest of loggers can be overlayed to give everything a club racer needs. Russ has gopro's attached to his iirc, slick system from what he's said but I don't know if he has it working yet.
£500 for a dash 2 Chip, £50 for a lead and then some more depending what sensors you want. You spend more in two track days I bet.
Is that got tyre temp readout on the overlay too, don't understand what the four tyres are representing?
And now you know why they get a loads of business, they must have a massive rug down at HQ.
Also what a bunch of helmets on that Renault UK anyway, seems to be the type of people more interested in their dash strips clashing with their steering insert than anything else.... I'm out.
'Something' I will never be able to teach or tell you across a forum.
You have replaced 'everything' but have said several times after the alignment being done that the steering isn't straight. That's your problem..... What is causing that is the harder bit. Now either there is wear in one of...
haha you will find I was giving you plenty of help In here but I just changed my username ;)
The reason I say what I said in my last comment is you keep harping on about strange handling, having replaced this and that on the front end, had it aligned several times and still the complaint of the...
Re: Understeer Soltuions?
LSD will only help under braking and corner exit.
Tyres were at the right pressure, suspension was on full soft?
Any videos? Were you trying to stay of the racing line, square the corners off?
Just monitor them, put them to 30psi to begin with so they have the stiffness to begin with then you will definitely have to take them down but by how much is determined by for how long and how you drive.
Neither would I but they are very good at marketing their brand and that attracts a certain type of clientele with big glossy advertisements and power claims.
I know very little about this side of things but can you not send a datalog via the web? I know someone that used to do it between races, its not the best way but a good setup can be had with a bit of to and fro.
Surely putting your car on a rolling road is a better idea in these suspected timing cases, covers more bases no? And you get a power figure if everything's rosey.
I do have to laugh at the general impression off timing belts on CS, the traders are lucky to have so many people who believe what...
Re: sonny172cup "track racer project"
Good news that it went well after all your hastle over the last year. I'm just going to get one of those caps for my scoop as that drainage would do my head in, Pit lane Motorsport is the company iirc.
PS are you crazy sliding your car about on a track day ;)
Just as well I saved this for when the search bar is broken.........
Clio suspension differences
182 cups have different bolt spacing (60mm iirc) on the hub to strut fixing, everything else shares the same size( iirc 54mm)
All 172 cups came with the extra caster wishbones, some of the...
What the Dr has said is the general publics idea of a good condition car IME and why I hate looking for cars.
I feel your pain when searching for a good condition low value car, they always get in the wrong hands.
Re: sonny172cup "track racer project"
Black headlights, brake ducts and your decals will look good.... that would be my choices but its your car lol.
Did it go okay at Spa?
