Dont want to say too much as the owner has been really honest in the add with things it needs/would benefit from. A standard car will go round Knockhill quicker that's for sure.
18% transmission loses.
I.e engine power (at the flywheel) 200bhp x 0.18 = 36bhp loses through the gearbox so power at the wheels would be 164bhp.
EDIT: 200bhp is just an example (I.e)
Look forward to the track results, I have an incline these are going to be a brilliant wet track tyre with the MPSC esque tread pattern. Don't think they have MSA 1a or 1b approval yet though.
If I had a pound for every time I was asked that haha, even this week......
For definite the start of next track season, maybe even out late this year if the weathers good.
From prices I have seen on here and motorsport ads then about £5k with box, lever, shafts, gear indicator. Engine mounts/subframe another 1k if you don't have them then you'll need a flat shift controller if your car ain't a cup racer. You'll also need uprights, hubs, pins, holders if you want...
That's 2/10ths a lap that Gaz haha.
Yeah if you can get on with it loose then that's what your wanting, get the turning done before the corner. TBH your car runs circles round mine as it is unless its thrown about. Can't wait to have a race car that doesn't need man handled round.
Well just let me know if they're any use.
Yeah its a pretty good track car for the little money spent on the setup, I try to keep it good mechanically. Nope no cage, should really have one in the way I drive it, I'm hoping that's the last track day of this season for me in this car (if I can...
Just an observation I made of the video Mark , hard to tell what it is actually doing. It does look like a tyre/suspension issue more than anything. Mine is very similar on my track cup which is too soft and inadequate tyres for what I'm trying to make it do.
Yeah you could rent the tools if you want, I'm the other side of town from you in Newtonhill but no big problem.
Mine is the one with full interior (with buckets) and megane 225 Brembo 4 pots.
Where you from?
Knockhill is like a clio playground now. SWR is the closest specialist which is in Falkirk or Stirling, any mechanic with some experience should manage it, I have the tools if you would like to tackle it yourself.
I like your mantra.....get in, drive it like you stole it until it stops.
Your car does look to steer from the rear (in that video) and in another thread Fred complained of weird handling, he couldn't describe exactly if it was oversteer or understeer.
Does James's car run a looped hpas rack? I thought he changed to a DCI jobby.
To me in that videos, James's car looks like its steering from the rear as theres sudden corrections of steering on the straights and on direction change.....or the diffs snatching and pulling the car?
Marks seems...
Re: Ph1 172
My car scrubs the n/s/r outer edges on the RS-R's at Knockhill ( almost as much as the front but its not your typical circuit and I'm partial to sliding the car) so I would say yes.
Your car doesn't roll to much so you could away with less camber (than mine that is).... have you tried full hard on the back and softer at the front. My car was struggling for turn in Sunday, must have been the cold track as nothing's changed on mine.
More front camber will give you that, you still knocking s**t out of the outside edges?
Gaz just go for what Mark has got above for a start, you'll need that and more with b14's being so soft. Don't bother with it until you know your cars good mechanically on the front end first though.
