As stated - 197 engine with forged internals and 8 staged injector setup
Probably had most of the internals custom made
Most things are possible with money
One of my mates was asked to build a 1.4 16v pug engine for a 206 competing in ireland, managed over 200bhp out of it, but there was...
If that was aimed at me I do like them
Problem here is what Chip touched on. 99% of people who go for a remap or some bits fitting these days want to come out with a pretty graph where one line is higher than the other
The truth is sometimes a power curve might just have changed shape, but just...
I actually really like the guys at K-Tec - they've always been great with me. BUT I do have to bite my lip with their facebook postings and power claims LOL
Even worse the 172 that has an induction kit and new exhaust system
Don't know why people bother with throttle bodies and cams, you...
Yeah I used allan head bolts - got high tensile too which was probably overkill but they were black and looked like nice
Use some anti-rattle washers too to stop them vibrating loose :)
Oh yeah - I fitted jubilee clips all round because those bloody "squeeze to undo" things are always impossible to get off - they always seem to be rotated to a point where you'd have to remove the subframe to get something on them to clamp them open lol
Pipes fit straight on - the big bottom hose is a bit of a pain as it's straight out on one rad and at an angle on the other (forget which way round) but with a bit of pushing the hose goes on :)
Can't remember off the top of my head with the bolts but might be able to look it up
I bought new...
Ahhh clearly I was wrong about hugging the wall LOL
Yeah 118mph - I remember hitting 110 in the clio and thinking "this is a bit quick with that 8ft high concrete wall next to my wing mirror" haha
They are rare in the Boras
I've got a Passat TDi 4motion and they're hard to find - there's literally only one or 2 on ebay each month
They only made the Bora V6 in a 4motion
I love the 4wd system, it has been soooo much fun this winter even with the 130TDi engine
Although mines about 160bhp...
Nooooooo
I might get corrected here by the proper track lads - but turn 1 is banked - part of the main oval. I certainly wouldn't try and come down to the apex and then out to the wall again, just hug the wall
In my old 106 I could do turn 1 absolutely flat out, in the Clio I was hitting over...
Wow well you learn something new every day lol
I freed the bar up on mine - spent 2 hours covering it in wd40 and wiggling it up and down till it was completely loose - but it still failed the MOT.
As I said with the car jacked up and your foot fully on the brake pedal you could still turn...
Are you sure? That seems highly unlikely
The arm is normally on non-cups linked to the beam so that when you put luggage in the boot and the car lowers it applies more braking force to the rear of the car by pushing the arm up and opening the valve. I was told that renaultsport re-valve the cup...
That is how renault intended it as that's the way the spring pulls the arm as standard. From what I can see it's just that the spring weakens over the years and the arm droops slightly
Those bias valves for the cup are valved to a minimal braking effort when the arm is fully open
I've never...
I've done quite a few days at Rockingham. I actually love the combination of tight infield with the fast oval. You can pull some silly speeds round it if you have the bottle to hug the wall
Gracelands is brilliant and if you get the corners before it right you can push through them all as one...
^^ Exactly this
The spring is s**t
I put 2 big fat cable ties around the arm and there's a bit of bodywork above it you can fasten them too - holds the arm as high up to the car as possible which is where it's supposed to be
Braking force increased at the rear so it passed MOT and was...
Re: Banksy Tunnel - London
LOL I stumbled upon the tunnel while I was down there on business, was out taking night shots in my spare time
Some guy started walking at me going "nice camera that mate" - s**t myself and legged it lol
Definitely missing an ADSL filter
Every phone socket in the house needs to have one to split the signal into computer & phone. Without one when the phone rings or someone rings out it talks "over" the computer signal and kills the internet connection
Check everywhere a phone or the modem...
If you want a factory finish they'll need blasting back down and powder coating
Companies like Big Red do that
It's expensive though.
Spray on High Temp paint might get a 80% finish, depends how fussy you are really, but you'll still have to sand them all down which takes ages or get them...
I'd say that's from heat as they have bubbled up
I've seen quite a few like that
If you're stripping them down and fitting new seals etc... grab some racing blue fluid from GSF and do a full brake fluid change too. It's not much money but handles heat a lot better than normal dot 4 stuff :D
I really wish I had the spare money to buy it - the thing is awesome, goes like a rocket and sounds nuts
I would love to take it to some RenaultSport track days and see the look on megane owners faces as I fly past lol
You get better fuel economy on that than I do on my Passat Tdi :(
^^ I had that setup on my car, it was very good but definitely not a "silly" amount of braking force. Go out in a car with 4 pots, braided lines, bells & rotors and no ABS - that's silly! lol
I spent a lot of last year with the BTCC teams and the Clio Cup - it really reminds me of that level of cars, they spend just as much time cleaning them between races as they do repairing/tuning them. I like it - nothing says a race car has to look like a rusty beaten up chunk of metal :D
I did laugh at rallycross tyres for Donny. Last time I photographed him there he seemed to be trying to keep two wheels off the ground on every corner - guess it cuts down tyre bills lol
Absolutely fantastic - as said your OCD works really well for car builds, I'd happily have let someone like you build mine and that's saying a lot
I really really hope there isn't any big incidents next year because that car is literally show worthy now!!
