Theres a slightly higher chance of if but TBH the FIA /MSA approved steel which is CDS (cold drawn steel) or T45 (lighter more expensive) is not massively different to the carbon steel that has been used on these cages. The main difference is that one is rolled from flat bar and seem welded and...
You have to take the cv out of the hub if you use either type so your 95% to removing the shaft by that point, if its the passenger side (wet side) then its a bit more work as you will loose oil.
You could knock the CV off the shaft both side's with them still attached gearbox side but there's...
If you have d clip type harnesses then for the centre point as said a long eye bolt and nut underneath where the original seat used to bolt trough.
FYI the outer lap belts on the b pillar can be secured with an m10 eye bolt through the original fixing point and the rear two with 7/16 UNF...
Maybe so but I wouldn't expect to see any exhaust in that state after 18 months, even up here with all the salt in winters
Also it looks like a stress crack where it has failed rather than the obvious surface rust on the welds which IMO has been caused by running no centre exhaust hanger (I...
It would emulsify after a time but if there ain't much water leaking externally or appear to be burning it then it has to be going some where, fluid doesn't compress.
Have you checked the interior carpets for being wet (maybe a heater matrix and would explain the smell your getting) and do you...
TBF to k-tec they don't even make these they are just a seller. As usual it pays to go to the manufacturer to the tune of circa £200... I know I have one and the quality is pretty good IMO.
Also theres no chance that exhausts 18 months old??? Poweflow exhausts don't even go that quick and they...
I have used many with success mate but as said they are a hit and miss and never last as long as a fitted type.
Adam will get you one by weekend if he has in stock.
Water floats on oil so it's highly likely it's in the sump. It doesn't even have to be a head gasket, if the thermostat housing gasket has gone it can mix oil and water there without any leak to the outside.
Unless you know of a good known brand then its hit and miss, buy shite buy twice. I bet there's very little to no price difference between the two nowadays anyway.
Speak to Adam at Wolverhampton.
On a bare shell restoration you would full prime then do Schutz on arches and sills then colour over the top. Some people like the Schutz over the colour.
Schutz doesn't need any prep to paint over btw mate aslong as its freshly done and clean off course. German tanks and many other manufacturers do this standard.
I wouldn't even contemplate breaking it. You would be stupid to sell as is as too. A low mileage 2005 182 surely warrants spending £500 to £1000 absolute max on (2nd hand engine, timing belt kit, aux belt if it needs it and labour) if its getting traded in straight away, don't replace the clutch...
Re: sonny172cup "track racer project"
Getting there Sonny. Lock two spare nuts together on the stud, hold that in a vice (or get a hand) and remove the stuck nut.
If you only changed the shocks then it can't be anything other than the shocks. Few guys have had the same issue now where the bump stops have been left out.
FYI I run et30 16" wheels with 205/45/16 RS-R's (so bigger compared to most road tyres) on sportlines and new cup shocks. It rubs...
215/50/15 tyres will be bigger in every dimension compared to 205/45/16 which are well known to scrub anyway with anything more than a circa 25mm drop.
You would need the perfect offset wheel in combination with chopped/rolled arches to make that work. Iirc some of the racers still use 195...
