Car looks nice and clean for a drive from Edinburgh to Aviemore lol.
Is that the loch just before you go upto the Cairngorms, great scenery around that valley.
Finally got the front door cards fitted and hopefully sorted the rattling drivers glass, okay so far.
Fitted the genuine Renault battery that my other cup won't be needing and gave the bay a wipe over.
Couldn't get the geo tweaked as they were too busy so I'll get that done when I'm home...
There going to harder most likely due to their position, the axle has a lot of leverage on them. Front/rear spring comparisons don't become relevant until the car has independent coilovers all round.
You can do that fine but you really need to lock the two nuts together for any purchase which then damages the coating on the nuts (unless you have other m12x1.5 nuts)
PMS studs are a nightmare to find the right allen key due to their coating, I have used a torx socket on both my cars now and it gulls the ends slightly which isn't ideal, a slightly ground down 4.5mm Allen key would be perfect iirc.
Car is going good in the vids, were you running slicks there?
As has been said, heighten the rear or lower the front to get the weight over the front wheels. Not quite the same level but the principle is there, I have just built a road car with cup shocks, sportlines and RARB. The car sits...
Stud kit fitted with spigot rings and wheels sealed ready for some abuse when the ds2500 go in.
10mm spacers on all wheels now.
Getting the geo tweaked again tomorrow and then its off for 2 weeks all inclusive on a floating prison.
Should have my xenons, wind deflectors and boot liner...
Yeah mate quite similar to yours as well I suppose.
Gaz's car has the same brake ducts, headlight covers, sunstrip, wheels etc etc that I have bought and is exactly what i visioned for my thing.
Would love to tbh, I don't think I would take my road car (although a possibility) i'll see how the...
They obviously wasn't the right diameter or something, its impossible to machine something of that size on a lathe to have a shape like a popadom due to the way its done. The ones they are currently selling are of good quality anyway that have been CNC'd and embossed with branding and width on...
Not bad for 106,000 miles eh, that headlight was pretty crazed too. I have a set of xenons coming In a few days, improves the cups loads I think.
I know the feeling mate, you get so far into a job and think I be as well do that too while I'm in here, 6 months later and your further back than...
I'm only running hankook s1 evo's on Northloop's recommendations which at £50-60 and I'm impressed do far, will probably melt them on track mind you.
Doing your camber that way never guarantees the same degrees side for side which then also gives your steering two different bump and rebound...
Really, I remember watching a video of yours from a while back. Anglesey iirc and your car was pretty poor tbh, iirc you have never had good tyres or a proper geo done right?
I eyeballed my camber and toe until I was happy it wouldn't need taking apart for some reason or other and it drove like...
Wasnt to pretty when I got it, beg borrowed and stole from the other cup and spent almost a week of 7-10 hour days to tidy it up.
Good stuff, thought you might manage the 21st of this month but you sound a while off yet.
You need a RARB, I have never driven a car that is so pointy and eager to turn, they steer from the rear with accelerator and brakes with the setup I have just now.
I'm loving my thing, brake slowly to just before an apex then jar the brakes a bit and throw it in at that point, awesome. Same...
That's because its not possible, if you understand the term spigot then you would know what I mean. You need to grind down the hub spigots that are on the car in order to fit 10mm spigoted spacers to a Clio.
In lemans its like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole.
On your car you have brake disks and pads on the front and brake drums and shoes on the rear. Wiki or google the differences mate, drums are old hat and are very rarely used nowadays and have been superseded by disks in 90% of cases.
I disagree, I have 4 x 10mm spacers and the quality is very good (Usual German quality)
No disrespect but I would say I'm in a better place to judge quality.
You should be fine with your plans, not the wildest possible width but I don't see the point on a daily when you run the risk of scrubbing which is very annoying (for me anyway)
Just buy from FK as there priced reasonably and you can then grind your hub spigots down (5 minute job) Its easier...
iirc that's not a deep enough hub centric spacer to clear the disks spigot, no big problem when you can just grind them down a little. I wouldn't personally fit any spacer that wasn't hub centric unless it was circa 5mm.
Whether it will be suitable with your wheel/tyre and suspension package im...
Cheers, looking alright for a £999 car now.
I have the time but no patience, not for me as a job anyway. Usually gets done once when I get the car and a going over a year down the line if I still have it.
Hows your engine coming, any planned days at KH?
