Re: SUPER 1600 REPLICA based on 172, CLIO WILLIAMS Tribute, CLIO WILLIAMS IV (Austra
Ooh fancy drawings, so you are going to have it sit right.
Hiw you going about the front, hopefully not 100mm spacers :S
Looking good Kelv, you don't mess about.
Same question as Sonny, just what im needing it looks like a moulded blank. Any links?
What door cards is that you have too?
Would explain the going deep into the hairpin.
Without sounding like a d**k I'm not that impressed with the Quaife's fitted to the Clio's. Between yours and Chips they really seem to struggle with anything more than straight ahead, the unweighted wheel just spins in corners making it no...
Good drive Tony, could see the red mist creeping in a few times with the turbo's pulling away on straights (hand flapping lol)
Was the circuit layed up for a while before your race weekend, did it rain before? Real low grip going into the hairpin or was that your brakes running out?
Car went...

FLOL at all the comments about lights, panel gaps etc etc on this. Give the boy a chance he has just placed the kit on for a rough idea.
Still needs 1/4's cutting, arches tubed, lowered, widetracked and...
Are they codes that are always coming up or were they just stored in the history?
If they are persistent codes then they are all related to throttle and lambda sensor wiring, I would trace back lambda wiring and throttle wiring and I'm 90% sure you'll find something rubbed through or water...
Well ET37 2118's will be the lowest offset you can buy and give you the widest track so go for them. If any of the offsets its these that will clear.
You want cup turinis again as there the lowest offset at ET38 iirc.
Like Chip has said, its not as simple as saying this offset clears. Internal...
evo1 and 2 (UK cars, derived from ph1 172's) and evo 3 and 4 which was the last evolution of the car iirc and run in Germany im sure, they barely shared any parts except the base components i.e gearbox, block, shell. Hubs, brakes, axles, engines, etc etc were al, upgraded so its a mixed bag tbh...
I wasn't saying that the UK cars run ET38 I was explaining to the OP the differences that an offset would make. All I know is European wheels are ET48.5 and have speedline embossed into the face where as the original fit UK cars didn't. Pretty sure there lighter too, definitely lighter than...
ECU's next to battery though you wont need access in order to disable the lambda, why you would I don't know.
Its going into 'limp mode' by the sounds of it. Put a code reader on it first though lol.
Standard car your going to struggle to make any money if you payed more than £1000 as a lot of...
Check you have a matching pair of bottom arms, ball joints and check the subframe. Other than that its bent hub (unlikely) or the front corner has been in a bash and not jigged right.
FYI a new strut won't and can't affect camber unless its like a banana which your going to notice pretty quick.
ET48.5 will sit further in the arches than ET38. Speedline won't sell you ET48.5 wheels off the shelf as that's a run of wheels they made for the European cup racer championships.
If its 15mm then just buy slide on hubcentric type and 15mm longer bolts, will be a bit stronger than bolt to hub type in that size especially if the spacers don't have a steel thread insert. Usually the cheaper ones don't have this.
The blue one is pretty much full carbon fibre body wrapped around a space frame chassis so yeah the running gear isn't standard lol. They are two very good pilots and quite well known in UK.
This is a quality video from years ago when they still had Escorts, most will complain of driving...
Fairly liquid spray, I'm forgetting its full name but Fred has recomended it a few times now for removing proper brake dust from wheels that iron-x won't touch.
Read these threads, seem to be a direct replacement with the pad surface hanging off the disk edge a little. No issue unless heavily worn pads touch each other. The only problem with this kit is finding good pads, you could have CL, Ferodo or the likes make you pads if you supply a backing...
I'll have to look into a 'softer' snow foam as I have been told my current one strips waxes etc. You will laugh probably as im sure theres better out there but I have been using Demonshine spray as a QD to aid drying, I have had good results considering it was 2 tubs for £5 a while back. Good...
Boost mad just now, you would think its new technology or something.
Turbo'd Clio and a megane don't compare, a Clio will never feel refined turbo'd where as a Megane can. Clio - raw - fun , Megane - refined- practical.
Good news on having a car to go racing with, did you rebuild the standard or just threw in a better piston to see you by?
Good luck for the race too, waiting for videos showing up that jap scrap.
My friend who lent me the Wolfs did say to watch what waxes you put on top. He hadn't used it yet so I was a guinea pig.
Ah ok, an alchahol wipe sort of thing.
Polished bliss is my most local detailing shop, is it quite a popular place? They know their onions when you go in, they blow your...
Phew, thought I had wasted my time by not using a wax on top.
IPA?
Is that just purely body wrap or have you machined that before applying?
I got good results considering what I started with.
So you know pal, In your gasket set you can use sump gasket, timing chain cover gasket, water pump gasket and water pipe take off o-ring, crank seals and the rest are for other f4r's and some for the f7r iirc. If you miss any seals out make sure its not the gearbox side crank seal as that's box...
As above, who has used it?
Im new to most of this so looking for a bit of feedback on it and its uses.
I used it after a full decon and compound (2coats) Was I right using it as a final step and should I have then covered that in wax?
I am quite pleased with the finish and beading but how...
