    172 manifold on a 182

You say you don't want to spend money but you don't have any exhaust except the 172 and 182 manifold, your going to need some kind of exhaust so why don't you just buy a 182 exhaust and be done with it? 172 manifold is seen as a downgrade from a 182 manifold although both have there strengths...

    Attemping boosted ph1

Yup that was my thinking Chip, thought I'd ask Incase he plumbed the turbo in backwards lol

    Attemping boosted ph1

Your theory doesn't sound quite right there Dan, 40mm onto the air filter. The entry/inlet to the turbo is usually the biggest diameter entry to the turbo. Good luck with the build

Chase Racing Clio Build Blog (TinTops Entry)

Not good to see your mods havent worked out so far Rob If your still looking for different shafts, I searched for far too long to find a longer shaft within the Renault range to suit my setup but I wished I hadn't now as Drive Link can build a shaft out of your one for £95 each + £15 for new CV...

    Big brakes using Renault parts?

Not really, the caliper and the mount are about the same bolt spacing . There is enough room to get a good 15mm tapped into the mounts for the caliper mount bolts.

Lots of smoke after 5k revs! Please help.

Possibly just water in the exhaust with the winter weather/condensation. Allow to warm and give it some to clear it out which is what probably happened the other night when you seen steam/smoke.

    Leaking again....

They are pressed into the sill, where the sill meets the floor pan. Where you would jack the car up from. I would take off the front and rear door card to clean as it could be the door drain holes aswell.

    Big brakes using Renault parts?

Did you make your own mounts? Depends if your running the 280mm kit or the 300mm kit, they are two different types of caliper mounts. My 280mm kit has the caliper mount studs crazily close to the hub mount bolts

Another Clio 172 Cup track/race build.

Yeah it's looking quite promising for the saloon's this year at KH with a few new classes. A 2.0 n/a class's was a big hole they were missing IMO so should encourage more average cars and not 2000bhp cosies, evo's etc. Im still at a stage where I can chop little bits here and there but it...

Another Clio 172 Cup track/race build.

I did a group buy on trackscotland for my ARDS with four other guys so they are going to be out in something, one of them has a Fiesta with zetec and the other has a reported 250bhp+ 205, unsure of what the others will have. There has been a lot of talk with the class secretary about it from...

    which wheels

Chip I opened the thread to see if something different was being done with wheels out of the ordinary as you do. Nothing against the op or you cliokid (lol at idiot) but to have as much posts on CS and to not know what a set of 2118's, 1.2's or Turini's look like on a Clio, they are like...

    which wheels

I wish I hadn't read it tbh "What wheels" What tyres" "What exhaust" is far to commonly posted. Every combination of mainstream wheels exhausts etc have been done to death on these cars, within two pages of the forum you could have your answer. Hence pointless thread

Cheers im hoping it is Stephen, it's a bit too lardy compared to some that are entering S&S next year though :(

    Kenny's Kup

Cheers for the link, I couldn't find for love nor money when I ordered fitting's. Now Ordered I thought they looked like Goodridge ££'ssssssssssssss. That's what all the classic cars are using to give an understated look. Hopefully my ptfe torques stuff will be good enough, does the 811...

Another Clio 172 Cup track/race build.

Its one of those tools that there really isn't a cheap alternative. Yeah just relies on the bolt to pull it in, there's bearings inside to assist. I haven't had a chance to use it yet but it will be good for the tighter spots and seem's well built with good reviews. Yeah I have used cheap...

    Kenny's Kup

If you have the patience to wait and complete as you want it then fair enough. Im the same in some ways, I like things done how I have pictured them and untill then it will just annoy me untill I redo it or sell it. Liking the the black fittings, classier than the tarty stuff I have used. Is...

Another Clio 172 Cup track/race build.

Been a while since I updated this and its not a great update tbh, some more parts arrived and they are all building up ready to go on. With a short time at home this trip, I cant see much being done on the car unfortunately with the freezing weather. Beer and boarding take over at this time of...

    New style powerflex bushes (pic)

It looks to just need the slightest tickle with the persuasion stick to work. Aftermarket parts need some persuasion now and again. If you want to get fancy, use the bolt & nut as a jack to open out the gap every so slightly.
  26. M

    New style powerflex bushes (pic)

Looks like you need less than 1mm to fit, why don't you just open the pick up out with bar/hammer, its only pressed sheet metal. The bolt will pull it back in when fitted.
  27. M

Do you need to weld Powerflex wishbone kit - the new style?

Better safe than sorry roller dan, most garages will do for you if you get them in. few rubbish shots of wishbones welded peanut head.

    Quick engine mount question

Your Manifold/exhaust touching subframe most likely. Tired or worn engine mounts or dog bone. If there okay slacken all engine mount bolts and move engine to best clear subframe and tighten. Could maybe be worn dampers as your car try's to tramp under hard acceleration.

    Valve stem oil leak

Totally agree with Dan here Bu**s**t. Never heard of an oil conditioner before, all these oil additives are a myth, slick 50 etc etc. There's no substitute for a good quality oil or regular oil changes. Sounds like they are trying to make some ££'s on products before they go and take you over...
