It was great fun apart from me doing an extra lap by mistake on stage 2 we set some competitive times. Then at the end of stage 10 the long drive shaft let go and took out the outboard shaft on the gearbox. Game over. Gutted.
Ran out of time again today due to having to pick the kids up etc but it is pretty much there now.
Most annoying issue was having to move the codriver seat forward and up to the top of the sidemounts as it fouls on the door bar. I may have to have a look again and perhaps drill new holes and...
Been on it again today, cage is now bolted in except for the doorways.
Need to change glove box door as that was cut down for the last cage, and secure the fuse box/Uch etc which due to time constraints will be a temporary thing. Bolt seats etc back in. Also need a new battery tomorrow as my...
@shiftspark I will be there on Sunday, I just need to finish profiling the dash round the new cage and bolt seats etc back in.
Seeded entry isn't up yet as entry doesn't close until tomorrow but there's an unseeded entry list on the wigan motor club site.
No I got them direct from HRX after doing a deal for seats, harnesses and side mounts with them at last year's Autosport show. Bryn has only started dealing them this year.
Once the new SD cage is fitted which I am doing right now I will hopefully be doing a rally at Wigan then its up for sale for £8k (cost a lot more than that to build it)
Quite simply - don't bother.
Save your money and wait until you can get a quick car, before wasting money on try trying to get yours to sound noisy for absolutely no other benefit.
If you like noise, put a decent stereo in it.
Could you take a photo from directly behind the drivers seat.
The harnesses (when used with a Hans device) should be tapered together equally from the seat to the harness bar, as I would like them to not have the edges of the harness fouling the diagonal/welds.
I think the harnesses may have...
They replied yesterday saying they can't move the harness bar due to homologation.
Crap that as I don't like the diagonals cutting across where the harnesses go. Guess theres nothing else to do about it.
1, top mounts are normal
2, it's the engine lifting eye. Take it off, paint it.
3, It goes white as it's just aluminium oxidation. Remove the inlets and spray them. Just mask off the mating faces and where plugs/fittings go. Don't need the cover on, it's just for show.
4, fuel rail bolts can...
Finally got round to removing my cage yesterday so it's ready to be collected. I have emailed @SafetyDevicesDaniel with the information they needed.
I have also asked if I could have the harness bar at the same height as my original cage so that my harnesses don't get fouled by the diagonals.
My...
Would have loved to come with the rally car for the day but probably will be working on Saturday. Car has barely been driven this year and will be up for sale once I've changed the roll cage in it.
