This could be a very handy little car with some finishing work, knock a bit off the price and you would be quid's in IMO.
Goes round Cadwell very well for a 1600cc in his old vid...
Top one could be a 172 cup shaft as well, looks the same as mine.
Bottom shaft will have to be longer really as it has to travel further with the intermediate bearing that bolts to the block, very small difference though. I know its possible to switch 172 cup shafts for the two piece one at the...
Should be good, no biggie if they break with your skills lol.
All the torque is dealt with on the g-box mounts, the engine one is there more or less to hold the engines weight.
Did you get pics of the other g-box racer mounts?
Just a scotch bright pad should be okay for keying the surface Pete. Matt paint's are all different, some better than others, some will say apply a lacquer others wont, have a read of the tin usually advises but if you do decide to lacquer make sure its satin or matt as you will end up with a...
Re: Road/Track 172
I'll try connect to the ecu but can be an nightmare when its not wired into the car.
I have still to get my caliper's machined to check wheel fitment mate, not getting much done.
If your not running the two piece shaft o/s you could make up another dog bone style mount and use support bearing holes on the block, looks slightly unsupported engine side from the pics.
Do you have an engine spec yet or are you keeping cards close to chest just now?
Re: Road/Track 172
Good choice, don't get much better wheels for cost/weight/cooling balance than 1.2's.
Do you need my map file still, should have adaptor tommorrow.
Im sure someone with more f4r experience will confirm but if there's room to knock it back then do so, there should be a polished part on the crank where previous seal sat and that's what I would aim for unless you can feel a groove when running your finger nail over the polished part then I...
Good write up and well done on the season's results Burpspeed!! All going well I will see you out somewhere next season :p.
Demon start as usual, do you run a LSD? I had a look but gave up with 193 pages.
Nice cars and sound awesome under hard acceleration. Fair enough 35k to buy, most people could probably stretch to buy one, different story running one.

Fiver on spun big end shell as the cause :)
Going to be hard to tell if he was flat out through pouhon tho.
Hard luck James, im sure you had some plans for it after your power week of trackage anyway.
Sounds like grease is getting onto your abs rings bringing up your light, if no knocking/clicking coming from cv's while turning with a lot of steering lock on then just refit boots with new grease and jubilee clips or correct clamps and give everything a good clean.
