I still fancy a wrx wagon but the ones in my budget are miles away. I need to sell the 205 and megane before I go getting another car. 4 is too many at the moment.
I used one to carry my Beta trials bike when I had it.
Good bit of kit apart from getting covered in mud lifting it back onto the rack after a trial.
Only thing with using it to carry a crosser or enduro bike is the longer wheelbase means it will stick out a bit further than the side of the car.
What are the costs of each?
I would love to have an LSD again as I used to use quaiff atb in my 205's.
Difference with the 205 and the Clio is I could change the diff in the 205 in an hour or so rather than having bits machined.
i will have to get some overtime in to buy one!
This!
i know you we're running stickier tyres than me at loton but all i did was wheelspin. its the first thing i would be doing as you would be pulling out the corners soon much better with a lower cwp and an LSD.
You don't need specialist hydraulic swaging equipment, its just a standard copper brake pipe flaring tool.
The flexy brake pipe should just unscrew from the knackered brake pipe, then the garage should be able to make up a new copper pipe to replace the knackered one and then refit the existing...
Time is a big factor for me thesedays, I don't have any to spend building another car. I've still got a 205 sat on the drive needing to be finished off.
Yes I have enjoyed building cars in the past, I just enjoy driving more than messing with them thesedays.
Mine as it is owes me 4k and I wouldn't get that back for it, I would be better off breaking it.
Mine hasn't had that much done to it so I can see how easy it is for you to get to 30k
I'm just having fun with it at the moment.
600 for decent seats and belts
700 cage
1200 LSD (definitely want one for stages)
200 extinguishers
25 autolec cutoff
20 film
90 fuel sample valve
And that's just the minimum, and money I don't have straight away.
I think if I did decide to go down the stage route again I would just sell the...
I have just had to replace my front pads and I have kept with yellow stuff again as I have been impressed with them especially with the abuse they have had. 3 road rallies, 2 trackdays, 4 sprints, 1 hillclimb and a bit of road mileage. Discs were still in good condition too.
I considered building my clio into a stage car but I can't justify the cost of doing it now that you need to have seats and belts in date, fuel sampling valve, window film etc which I didn't have to have for my last stage car and that is just the basics.
After having this Clio for a while now I...
Makes you wonder what the newer AD08-R would be like in comparison as they are a softer compound.
Just a shame the older ones are in msa tyre list 1a but the newer AD08-R are probably going to be msa tyre list 1b. (I'm only allowed to use list 1a tyres for sprints)
I struggled to get some of the...
