I know that young drivers having 172's and crashing them is rubbish. I had my last 172 when i was 17! I just want to know why in the insurers eyes is a cheap comparitivly slow hatch so expensive.

Valued at £6k each. A small hatch with a 166bhp ish engine is probally less of a risk than a small hatch with a 240bhp 1.8 turbo.
