When you say standard 172 Cat, its not a phase 1 as that's a double barrell affair I think?
You mean a phase 2 standard cat?
Your right- the Sportscats are well pricey- some more than the motor cost!
Maybe a decat methinks- then what to do at MOT time
Attending FCS recently, Clio loved the track for couple hours
Took a hint from someone on here and drop the power steering fluid, as last time I went round it seemed to let itself loose all over the engine bay
Anyway, having dropped it to minimum, an hour or so after the track I topped of with...
Ive had 2 small hatchback covers (Inc Halfords) and whilst they easily fit, they are very loose and the wind gets into them
Many a windy night and in the morning they are half off
Going to have to go tailormade if I can, altho they do a "half tailor made" whatever that is...
Yes, seen quite a few between £65 and £100 and think Car cover was one of the suppliers
Thing is, will it fit properly, that's why am looking for recommendations for covers people use on Clios that fit
Luckily, when I purchased my 172 18 months ago it already had a BTB stealth exhaust on, (Still got a part payment receipt) which seems to get pretty good reviews, and has a sound that's just right for me.
Havent looked into it too much, but it doesnt have the dual standard catalytic converter...
Looked at a few,

But never sure, whilst they say "fits" a Clio, whether they are just a general fit. Would like...
Anyone got any recommendations for a decent car cover for my Phase 1 , Clio 172
During winter it gets parked up off road, and only used maybe weekends, and has thrown at it all the British weather that can happen- and that's usually lots rain
Have had a couple cheap ones, basically large grey...
just stripping a set of inlet manifolds with an electric drill wire tool, and its doing a good job
Will then use gunk degreaser and jet wash, fine wire wool
Was then going to use suitable (Manifold) high temperature paint, probably silver, but if I use a different colour would spray the whole...
You cant spend all that time and money on it and only do 1 track day a year Karlos
Get to CSF and enjoy it, or you have both Lydden and Brands closeby!!! Go for it
It should be driven not stuck in a garage :::-)))))
Yep, there was a whole specific collection of Ferraris around a dozen, and think I saw an F40 in the Supercar paddock. There sure were some motors there. Oh, and a dozen helicopters coming and going
There were McLarens queing on front and behind me to go up the hill, and I asked my passenger...
great day yesterday- was even offered a test drive up the hill in a new Honda Civic Type R at 320bhp. (So took the opportunity obvs)
Thanks to Mike (FatRS) on here for sorting that- lovely motor
Fabulous- stacks stalls and dealers there- PORSCHE 70yr anniversary, and weather held pretty much...
I started of at over 1.40 and ended with 1.33 which for a pretty standard Phase 1 that had to get me home I was pleased with. I would expect its quite slow, but a longer time on track would have faired me better, and maybe a bit of tinkering with the engine is called for :-)
Nice to catch up with you guys, loved the day, the weather, and even the slightly lower amount of people and cars
Glad was of assistance to Jimmy/Amy and their clan, but as usual, have forgotten most names LOL (Age!)
Cheers for the inlets DJW John- you certainly can pack some stuff in them...

ive only done Donnington once before, so don't know the track that well myself.
I'm on 1-3pm too, gonna come off 2.50ish to try see start of footie
We could tag each other round 1st 2 or 3 laps if you like. I am certainly no expert, just pedal to the metal when I can, altho the car has got to get me home so don't redline it all the time- plenty overtake me LOL. I take my...
