Went for a half cage myself as didn't want all the hassle of getting in and out as its a weekend car. Also full cages are heavy
Just wanted protection from rolling, as don't fancy getting squashed, but wouldn't help much in side and front impacts I suspect
Better than zero cage methinks
now, pardon me from getting back from the pub after England lost to Belgium (Yay, we are in an easier route to the final some say)
That means we play Columbia Tuesday night
And if we win that, play the following Saturday- which is FCS
and as far as I know- there are two kick off times for...
Yes, everything should be tethered or removed. But a heavy sharp halt, of a speeding vehicle, will dislodge the most stable of car parts. Nuts, bolts, glass- anything will fly around the cabin- and I would rather not have it thrown in my face at high speed
I spun off 2wice at Lydden a month ago, and second time I thought I was going over
I was only 1 of 2 cars on the track too, end of a long day, and still water drying on the track from the drifters who had just been on
So full face for me- altho I am not planning it either
I had an open face for track day use, but then though if loads stuff starts flying around if you go belly up, its the face you wanna protect most
Si now have full face, which is hot and awkward, but feels more secure
Havent found a motorsport one at a reasonable enough price yet tho (200ish)
mine failed the groupon regas offer when i took it to ATS
Is it worth looking for a leak- or bit of a nightmare
They said it seemed pretty well ruptured as they could smell the gas instantaneously
Aftermarket ebay stuff is much cheaper... but not the quality.
And if you have a £550 clio 172 like mine, not really any point of putting quality stuff on it
Funny enough, ive just thought about going the other way, and getting a trailer.
Roadgoing insurance with the mods I have, (Cage, no airbags, coilovers etc etc) and Clio 172 roadtax at pushing £300 a year, for a motor i may use once a weekend, not sure it makes sense
However- you can get in and...
Thats FCS tickets for me and Mrs all paid now, and the rest of weekend too, except for the fuel.
Travelodge hotel in M1 Donnington services the night before (Anyone else there?) only 10 mins from Donnington entrance
2 hr slot on track in aftnoon too
Visiting a couple national heritage sites...
Tried to book a couple tickets through the link in post #1 and it was disconnected because the link was infected?
Edit: Think its the PFC shop itself, as i couldnt connect going on the PFC site
Been told there is a place in Crawley, West Sussex, who does a part ex thing with inlets. You get a matched set off him, then he takes yours in exchange after his has been put on. Anyone know of him? (Long shot I know)
Where you Puddlejumper? Saw a trailered silver Clio. I am at the back of all the stalls, but not too far from the grid.
Ed: found you up the back. Nice to meet you, will try catch u in the next couple seshs but all those Mitsis and scoobys get in the way. Lol.
Ive gone for the last few years and get there early. Last year was there 7am as the ques to get in can be phenominal. I sign on for track time at that time too, as i am one of first there. Staying in hotel in dover the night before.
In my silver, phase 1, Clio 172, which has a fair few blue...
Hi Robbo- welcome to the Club
BHP Performance show at Lydden Hill next Monday Bank Holiday
Couple of us going on the track
Should be a great day if the weather holds up
Cant wait
Fab weather (clear blue and 25deg) fab cars, fab everything. Wasn't even absolutely rammed all day either. Even got a seat in a cafe.
Met my nephew from East Sussex cruisers, and a few good conversations. When most started leaving round 4pm they all belted up the slip road- quite a site and...
They do look great doorcards, but then nowhere to rest your arm, or put things like water bottle in the pocket, CD storage and all that. Ive even mounted a window hammer on the arm rest
So- in 2 minds to leave as is actually- but OEM certainly heavy
