I have a phase 2 172 cat on it , single pipe
Thought about a proper map, but the engines done just on 100k and with a tuner, if the engine struggles could revert to OEM?
Have a RAMair filter, S pipe 76mm hose to throttle body.
Coilovers or shocks n new springs not a bad idea, but it does...
As I have a Phase 1 Clio 172 Y reg for a track toy, Ive decided I can spend a Grand (£1k) ish a year on playing around with it, and where possible include track time of half dozen shows and track days a year
The budget was pretty much blown this year for the belts, dephaser etc etc which came...
A long time since we went camping, the Mrs and I - about 10 years (West of France, rained all the time and we hated it LOL)
We're staying the Saturday night at Blyton for the music- looking forward to it
Weve got a tent, which we are gonna check out and put up in back garden over the weekend...
All well and good to have have tyres for track only, but if you only have one set wheels the taking on/off all the time becomes a pain, if the car is for road use too
Most people drive the cars to the track, a fair few trailer them, but most drive to track that Ive seen
I have 2 sets wheels...
I got the advice from a pro driver who was at and knows lydden well, as its only a mile circuit very twisty and turny, and a 180 degree turn
I started at about 26psi, and obvs that kept going up, I tried 23psi and the grip was fabulous, so kept it at 23psi. Only at the end of the day I saw that...
well. uneven wear lets put it that way, meaning it wasn't road legal
Let the pressures down real low as advised, had a fabulous day at Lydden, pretty much took everything in site. And fooked the tyres. LOL
More careful now- thought they were 6mm
Goodstuff. Its not a competition. LOL
Sposed to help each other out in a Club
But enjoy your tyres, careful when using the track. I totalled a new AD08r in a day, and the other side was much better (Running about 23psi)
Actually, I never saw them AD08's, they just told me they had ordered the wrong tyres, and that only 1 AD08R in the country
Thinking about it, they may never had had them. I never asked to see the AD08's
They saw they made a mistake with the pricing (got the single AD08R for about £46 fitted)...
They may not make them, but quickfit wanted to give me 4 mid last year, after I had ordered 4 AD08r's
They then had to honour the price for AD08R's (Which were detailed on the invoice) but only had 1 left in the country.... (Yeah, I thought that)
So I had the single AD08r a few days later, and...
Had my little Clio 172 phase 1 for 22 months and still love the little jet powered roller skate
It has thrown up some noises which I couldn't pin down until:
1. You unload everything from the car
2. undo the last job you did
My last 2 that have been bugging me for a week or two, was a constant...
Hard luck OP Baz
Ive heard of belts lasting 120k + and 10 years
Just had mine done on a 2001 Y reg, wont be getting done again. Hoping it to last well past 5 years, cos it wont go anywhere nr 72k
Can I ask did you buy used tuner, or new?
Seems for £190 ish you get a new tuner and all the standard upgraded maps (And the back up from who sells u the tuner, with 12 months guarantee I would hope)
dont think they look too bad tbh. Was offered a set (naff condition) a while back but didn't like the look of them even for track
Quite like them on the Black Clio- certainly different to Oz F1s and the Dynamique's
Your lucky- last owner of my house converted the garage into a bedroom!
I converted into a sports room (Big TV with SKY/BT footie)
Thats why I am looking for a decent car cover LOL
Bought mine for £550 getting on 2 years ago. Spent about £1500 in first 9 months including 2 Corbeau bucket seats and half cage
Just got Clioman to do the belts dephaser etc for £600. So they are good for another 5 years
Given up tracking the bits and pieces i buy and add on, as its a hobby...
Great. Well that might be the one for £115.
Not really the paintwork i am protecting as its pants, its trying to stop water getting all around the bodywork, underside and gaps, all winter
try groupon recharge air con gas, and if theres a leak, they give you your money back
That's what I did, and mine had a leak :- (Phew- isn't it hot LOL)
I have both
You can cut very carefully the engine cover toward the back, then self tap a small metal bar to secure either end together, and it looks pretty good- well, for me anyway
Otherwise: STRUT
Looks like this one is tailored to fit at just over £100
But would still like to know someone who owns one

(The MONSOON one is the one I am looking at)
