Renault Mechanical muppets

A couple of weeks ago my car went in to get the engine mounts replaced, a common 182 fault. As usual they diagnosed the problem I'd already explained to them, and sent me on my way as they didn't have the parts.

After that day the car had a new rattle/knock, which I thought was possibly because they had tried to bodge it for the time being.

So last week the car went in and had the mounts replaced and all is well....but I've still got this new noise.

This afternoon I popped the bonnet to drop an ITG filter in and top up my screen wash only to find a bit of monkeys socket set rattling around under there.

I really do worry what they'll do next.

Think I'll give them a call next week and complain, see if I can blag some off my next service.

TBH, I'm not surprised.

Having thought about it though, its a sad state of affairs whena new something is rattling around and the owner thinks it odd but kind of reluctantly accepts it.

Thats Renault ownership for you.

Would expect anything different from them .. didn't realise it was this bad though ... tut tut ..

I would play f*ck at them Lee, could it have caused any damage ??

Lee,
Have you noticed any difference with the ITG Panel filter?

Not driven it anywhere yet. I had one in the 182 and it makes it breath a tiny bit easier higher up the rev range, but they make very little difference.

I fitted because it will save me on the next service. The dealer said they would fit it at my next service if I wanted, but that would still incur labour charge. My next service is free anyway.

Dealers left a pair of snips under my bonnet. luckily they must have been wedged between the top of the grill and the bonnet so they didnt move anywhere.

that's a common thing round here Lee.

I had an old oilfilter and removal tool in my old Dynamique. Sitting in the undertray. :(

I got 50% off next service. I never went back though. Jokers.

Just by chance, were the tools left in the scuttle panel at the top of your bonnet?...that's a favourite!

I have several tools in my tool box courtesy of main dealers' lack of attention.

Same here, I've acquired a couple of nice Snap-on screw drivers thanks to main dealers! What confused me last time was what they were doing with a foot long flat head screw driver for a service on a clio that has only Torx bit head bolts/screw on it! :S
