Its horrible selling your pride and joy. I'll never forget seeing my 172 drive off, the sound of the induction roar and stealth nicely burbling away.... :dapprove:
Re: The Big Manchester Meet...
Sold it. It was only a tempory hack until I came to uni. I saw you on the day I moved up here actually on the east lancs, last month. You were with your missus coming from Ashton way.
Re: The Big Manchester Meet...
Cheers naith much appreciated.
Yeah cheers chris i'll give you a shout if i'm stuck. +1 on Ian too haven't seen him for about a year.
Re: The Big Manchester Meet...
I may come if I can sweet talk somebody into giving me a lift i'm only in Salford so its not too far. Worst case I may even bus it, the embarrassment :(
I thought that. I haven't driven a CTR but it seemed to be the opposite to what every body else says about them. To be honest there would be minimal difference around a track between a 1*2 and EP3 around a track. I do want to try an EP3 just to try the engine and 'box though.
Completely different cars really. A 182 is a more old school hot hatch. The 197/200 is a modern hot hatch its bigger, heavier, more powerful, better brakes, fatter tyres, bigger wheels...
Personally as a daily driver i'd rather have the MK3, but for purely a toy i'd have the 182. However due...
Rob91 had his on oulton last month. He upset a few CTR's in the corners by all acounts. His is stripped and coilovered though.
I went watching a track day at oulton a couple of months ago and there was a bog standard scoda octavia estate on track. Proper poverty spec too, even had steelies. It...
Companies like this will always be around extracting money out of unsuspecting customers though. They will come to a proper specialist and get the response for 200bhp your going to need say £2400 for ITB's or slightly less for the RS2 manifold. However they're then going to want the exhaust...
Nice car ben. It will certainly be nice to have japanise build quality and that engine/'box. Good choice all things considered. Interior spec in them is pretty poor though. no clock...
There aren't any cheap mods you can do for a significant change in power on the K4M. If your handy with the spanners then look at Hutchies car, I think thats making just over 150bhp iirc on bike throttle bodies. He did it cheap but it was all done by himself.
Its a nice little car. Do you not miss the 300+ lbft of the meg though? The 170bhp map should see it be as quick as an RS Clio though, The SS at 160bhp is still just under 4 seconds shy of a 200 0-100.
