Would have to be the Vee for me. Truely special car. The R26.R is a special car but in reality its nothing you couldn't do to a standard Meg, were as to put a 3.0 V6 engine in the back of a Clio is just plain amazing.
You know it! Insurance have been kind too so i'm on the hunt for one now. MK1 ,of course, with coilies and deep dish alloys in the summer. You will love it.
The way i'd run it in is warm it up fully, then change up when it goes babababababab then repeat for the next gear. Fact of the matter is they usually make more power when run in hard plus your going to throw it back at Renault after 2 years anyway so you'll always have warranty.
Yeah, followed usually by a crunch. The drivetrain on Clio's leaves much to be desired. The clutch on both my 1.2 and 172 were really heavy compared to similar hatches.
Just get a ph1 172 or espace v6 airbox and run it without the air feeds. Gives you plenty of noise and gives gains over a standard airbox, hence why JMS sell the kit.
The ph1 is my favourite RS Clio, hence why I used to own one. The only thing that would put me off going back is the age of them. They aren't getting any younger and they also aren't really getting much cheaper now so its not like you can pick one up really cheap and spend money getting it mint...
I think that is 100% spot on. I'd personally say the least desirable is the ph2 172 however stick it on turini's and a good set of coilovers and you've got a much more capable car than a cupped 182 and it no longer looks like a dynamique because it has some good wheels on it. Performance wise it...
I can understand what your saying, you're not running a free car experience day. However if you were trying to decide between say a M3, RS4 or C63 AMG you'd want to drive them all before deciding, its a decision making process that most people do to find out whether they like a car or not.
It will have more than 187 bhp if it goes in the RS Clio. They're not going to call it the RS 187 are they, the numbers have to go up for marketing purposes. I'd like to see it weighing around 1000kgs with 187bhp, that would be fun. I'd prefare it if they kept the 2.0 N/A but the EU says no.
Insurance seems to have gone up loads the last year. I paid £1300 tpft on my 172 last year. I haven't done another quote but they wanted £990 for a 1.8 Mazda 323 :/ tpft.
