So fUbAr ... did your B1 flag up the Gatsos we passed? Fact that it didnt near K-Tec plus details here ... http://www.dorsetsafetycameras.org.uk/camera_sites.htmhttp://www.dorsetsafetycameras.org.uk/camera_sites.htm ... make me think it was something else that you saw!?
172 engine is strong and the standard rev limit isnt really stressing it ... just that the power drops off after 6.8k so a higher limit would only give you slightly longer legs not anymore power. Personally once the car is warmed up (I hold it below 3.5k when cold ... or about 4k on m/way) ...
Yep ... my assistant has got a standard 20vt and its as skittish as hell on the road! Also the VAG 1.8 turbo is such a soulless engine. Having driven both her Ibiza and my 172 ... glad Ive got the 172!
sh*t ... Im gonna feel it when I switch to the V6!!
My 172s been in having its bumper sorted and so been bodyshop for a while ... had reset the computer before it went in. After a while driving a frigging Fiesta, now Ive got my car back Ive been blatting everywhere - motorway plus local...
The exact date for UK cars is in this thread http://forum.cliosport.net/display_topic_threads.asp?ForumID=2&TopicID=124717&SearchPagePosition=1&search=esp&searchMode=allwords&searchIn=Topic&forum=2&searchSort=dateDESC&ReturnPage=Searchhere ... courtesy of Jeremy who is the Clio brand manager in...
Apart from the obvious fact that Ill be the second owner, anybody got any negative experiences of buying a pre-registered car? Planning on keeping the car (V6) for 3+ years and maybe much longer, so number of owners isnt an issue for me. Also transfer of registration document is done on day of...
Matty ... got hold of copy of this month Evo. Its end of term for their Fast Fleet V6 and gives a good view of the costs. Evo reckoned they paid £500 for a pair of tyres ... shmall managed £310 ... reckon my local Micheldever tyres will be able to do them for even less. Beyond tyres, brakes look...
After Ive let it warm up a bit .... I rag is all the time subject to road conditions. Only time it granny shift like KDF is when it wet and slippery ;)
Great thing with the 172 is that even with this driving style (and not many motorway miles) I still average 32mpg+!
Bad luck Mike! :( Will it be the same mate who dropped your spoiler doing the work ;)
Mines been down at A&J Lawrence (just off the A27 down from North Harbour roundabout next Hendys) for the last week whilst they sort out the (minor) damage from when somebody did mine from behind the other...
Planning on going from 172 Mk1 to V6 255. Love my 172 to bits ... have always enjoyed hot hatch performance and styling and 172 is one of the best for that. Also always wanted something with more than 4 cylinders ... but didnt want to have a big motor to put the big engine in. Hence, V6 gives me...
Also since the engine is basically a common V6 used in multiple vehicles, theres always the chance that in some instances youll be able to source locally too!
Longer you spend on the forum youll find the some questions come round again and again. If youve got a good memory youre an expert after a while :)
For really difficult questions tho youll see we all rely on folk like Mike172, BenR, Jay and some of other RTEs.
Strike the deal for cash ... and then ask about 0% finance. Get out your tape recorder. If they say that itll cost you more for "0% finance" :devilish:
Im planning on having a Silver V6 255 ... rare for exactly the reasons you give above. However, I love silver ... and you get the colour coding on the side intakes for free :)
Mike ... well you could try an convince Metallic Black to come and then toss a coin to see who drives. 50% chance of you getting hammered. Then again MB did say that Soton was too far for her works Xmas do ;)
Nik ... glad to hear that things are progressing positively. We definitely owe a particular person a drink or two at the Xmas meal for the attention and care he brings to our cars :D!
Darren16v ... why dont you join the club ;) Its an absolute bargain especially if you buy the ClioSport...
Hmmm ... newregcars have V6s for £21600! That is an absolute bargain ... cheapest Ive seen by far!
When a car is pre-reg ... how long until the ownership is transferred to you? Is this the dodge of them keeping it for 90 days etc..?
Exactly where Im going ... need some Optimax!
Dont like getting petrol from CF any more tho ... thats where I was going when I got knocked from behind the other week. Brings back bad memories ;)
Of course ... but the V6 255 being such a great car Im expectant that value will hold up enough that I wouldnt lose too much if I had to sell it in desperation ;). Might add that this is the biggest, most selfish and financially silly thing Ive ever contemplated doing ... but you only live once :)
