Ultimately, I can't see Renault helping out anyone outside their warranty period.
So that leaves us with three options:
1) New aftermarket steering wheel, whereby you would lose your airbag and cruise control buttons.
2) New Reanult steering wheel (sounds expensive).
3) Current wheel...
A couple of months ago I noticed that mine has also started this bubbling/melting nonsense. Mines an 04 plate with 64000. I must say Mark's is the worst I think I've ever seen!
Anybody know how much a new 182 front bumper and a new nearside xenon headlamp unit would set me back?
I can't seem to find the parts and their relevant prices on the tinterweb anywhere.
I should image the insurance companies would like to know about a mod like this, especially where it involves the removal of the airbag.
I'm sure I've seen aftermarket wheels with airbags in, but they were hideously expensive.
Shame about the cruise control though. Whilst some obviously...
Sounds like you've got your moneys worth from the forum then! :)
Just out of interest, what have you done with your cruise control switches? Did you ditch them or manage to fit them to the new wheel?
IIRC Renault have changed the clamp they used for the mid-section to cat join. It used to be a circular one with one bolt. It's now in 2 halves with two bolts, which is a better, more secure design.
I have this problem too. It only seems to happen when I put the car in the garage at night and lock it. I think I'll try waiting a few seconds longer before locking it and see if that helps.
Try a patio/driveway cleaner from somewhere like B&Q.
Remember to refill you gearbox with oil, as you've obviously lost some when your driveshaft fell out.
Yeah let us know what happens with this matey. I can't stand people like that. You can guarantee he won't be giving it the large when he's nicked for a public order offence for the way he spoke to you!
I have to agree with others in here - having lights on during the day seriously reduces your chance of people pulling out in front of you, not looking properly etc. That's why motorcyclists do it.
Has anyone noticed that the new Audi A5 coupes have daytime running lights at the front - those...
Are these foglights the same? I need to replace my offside foglight as it got smashed by a car in front the other day.
I've seen some for sale on eBay for the new clio (197) and they look very similar to those for sale for the 182. Question is, are they the same/will they fit my 182?
They are robbing bar-stewards. Crash with RAC cover and they'll recover you no probs. Crash with AA cover and they'll kick you in the wedding vegetables just when you need it the least!
Hope the damage wasn't too bad matey and you get it sorted soon as. :)
I've been toying with the idea of removing my white stripes from my RB 182. I'm not sure I want the car to be so easily recognisable anymore.
The car is a 2004 model, and has had the stripes on since day one AFAIK. If I remove them, am I going to be left with two silly bits of paintwork that...
