Unfortunately that's wrong. Temporary traffic lights use radar to detect vehicles moving towards the lights. The sensor is the black box above the traffic light. You need to be moving at more than 5 mph to trigger the system into recognising that you are there and it needing to change the lights.
Out of interest, what does the Volvo/Custom-made bracket do? Obviously the A/C pump is removed but why the need for a bracket?
P.S. I wasn't having a go earlier about removing the A/C, just saying that I quite like mine as it's my daily driver, so there's no point me removing it for the odd...
How random? Have you had the balancing checked on the tyres? Just a thought, but perhaps if they're slightly out it might be enough to vibrate small components like mirrors?
You should pop along to the next meet we have. There's one in Pompey at Krispy Kremes soon, but we have more local ones at the Longbridge Mill, Sherfield On Loddon, when the weather is nicer. :D
RB 182, I think it was Mike's old car. I followed it up the A339 through Basingstoke, you gave us a little thumbs up before heading off towards Old Basing.
Sussex have a Lotus Exige in full police livery. Apparently though, it's not used for pursuits or general patrol duties. It's supposedly for turning up at cruises to educate the "yoof" about road safety.
Nonsense. We've got a few unmarked Octavias.
Anything else you might have seen is probably out of force (i.e. another force), cars on loan for testing, driver training vehicles, or even a different emergency service altogether.
With black aftermarket alloys, yesterday afternoon pulled into the car park at the front of the Police Station. Had a little Spax sticker in the rear window.
This morning, on the A33 roundabout joining the A339 northbound. Twas a silver non-RS clio with nice alloys and silver to black tinted windows with a large Cliosport sticker in the rear window.
Yes it's illegal. I had one like that on my old 306. I drove around for months before being pulled over by an unmarked car and given a £30 wonder for my troubles, so it's not really worth the hassle.
