Roy's right, 2nd gear onwards is where it really matters.
Once they're spinning over 5K rpm they pull well. Below that they don't feel very quick or torquey. I've been told mine pulls well low down compared to others too, albeit probably not much difference, but it still doesn't feel very...
Clio 200R.
Put the engine out of the Meg R26 or even Meg 250 in, along with an LSD.
Would be the best Clio ever.
If they said they would ever do that i'd start saving now.
Service + belts + engine mounts = £600
Exhaust inc fitting = £340
Eibach Sportlines = £70
Wipers, silvervisions and new nuber plates = £50
Other small things = £50
Insurance = £1350
Tax = £190
Oh and the car was £2400
Total = £5050
Oh and it needs brakes all around, a interim serivce and a...
Sounds like she's been had. There are loads of 1.2 16vs at breakers yards etc she could have got an ecu off or ebay as you said.
Hence why I'd never let my mum or gf (if she had a car) go to a garage alone.
I'd rather walk than pay £2700 for a Twingo 133. They're not even fast, good cars but hardly worthy of a £2700 insurance premium.
It annoys me paying £1300 for my 172 at 19.
I'd be really pissed off tbh.
Great little cars all the same though. Same block basically, just get a front mount intercooler, uprated injectors, fuel pump & turbo (pump only needed with dci 100 turbo iirc) , and map then you will be pushing over 100bhp.
I'd rather have KTR Coilies tbh.
Re the OP: I can't comment on apex to drive. They look good though.
I have Eibach Sportlines on my 172 and I have got to say i'm extremely impressed with them. Offer a subtle but noticable drop too.
Biggest load of flannel i've heard on this site for ages.
He's actually taking good lines imo. Aslong as there is visibility then there is nothing wrong with offsiding atall. It makes for far smoother, faster and if done correctly safe progress.
Awesome video mate. Sounds even better in...
My trip computer will read 44-45mpg if you cruise at 70mph on the motorway. I've done this several times.
Around town looking at 33-36mpg depending on traffic/length of journeys etc.
On a decent run including having a bit of fun arund 38mpg is perfectly achievable.
Maybe also because it was being driven at 1000mph everywhere too chris ;)
I know what you mean though, bucket seats and no interior do attract attention.
Its a good idea to keep the tyres until you get the coilies anyway incase they arnt set up 100% right and you wreck a set of tyres.
Looks a really nice example though mate. Really like it.
You wern't in Lancaster in it the other day where you? Sunday night. I saw one just like yours on a...
I thought this was on Saturday. Dammit, I would have been up for this. The cat and fiddle in the wet/ice doesn't look fun when your running TR1's though. Ditchfinders.
Looks an awesome meet though.
