Well I took your advice and bit the bullet and am going to travel. To be honest I was only willing to travel that far because the sellers off here and I trust him. It is a long and costly journey, one I wouldn't want to make for a bad car.
I'd take a chance as the 54 mile one though mate.
True you will but its a better option than a 106 GTI imo which where both yours and my other option. The GTI's of the same price usually have higher mileage and are a bit older.
I'm sure you'll find another mate, like you said your willing to travel. Which I tried to avoid but it seems...
Thanks for that Dan ;) Heartsinking moment especially after i've booked train tickets etc.
He's took it down now mate sorry. I'll post pics up when I get it though.
It's a long journey though nearly 7 hours, train tickets wern't cheap either but its a nice example.
Is there any easy way to do it or do I have to sit for hours picking it all off?
I only have a couple of hours, i'm selling my car tomorrow and it needs to come off.
Thanks,
Brett
Ok i'll take all that on board. I'm thinking of just getting it looked at when I go and make a decsion then. I trust both of the people i'm weighing up getting it done with anyway.
Is it necessary to change the waterpump on a 172 at the same time as the cambelt and aux kit.
The price difference is £125 between the two. I know the waterpump is driven off the aux belt so if it goes the cambelt wouldn't need re-doing.
This would be on a ph1 172 by the way. 2nd belt...
Its a ph1 which has the twin cat (some late ones have the single cat). You just need to get the ph1 system as its a different length than the ph2 system because of the cat difference.
