£40?? are we talking stock pistons from another car which are the same size with lower CR? That would be very cheap. Cheapest i got for custom forged is £350 delivered.
Paul
Hmm, never mind! Have been thinking that tbh as it would be a b**ch for someone to insure. Also would need the right buyer. I was hoping to get 3k but may seriously have to think about not doing the conversion as i really don't want a clio stuck in the workshop :(
Cheers

Out of interest what sort of money would a Turbo Clio fetch?
1992K in Toungsten Grey
16" 5 Spoke Alloys
Very Good Body
Full MOT
Conversion With Forged Pistons 9.0:1 CR
Fully rebuilt motor from bottom end up

The car had a very badly fitted Viper kit as it was pointing at the radiator with about 1 inch of play! also had a magnex back box. The map was checked 100% and was totally safe. The car ran 172 std and 185 after(FW), both were run within 45 mins and adaptive was reset on both occasions. I would...
It depends how bad it is, it is possible for the gasket to go in many places and doesn't mean the leak will between cylinder and water, this would obviously cause s**t running. It may have gone from the water side to where the plugs sit.

I have rempped both fabia VRS's and Leon Cupra FR150's and admit both go very very well when mapped but the Diesel power is totally different from a petrol car. It just seems to run out far too fast. Gimme a petrol any day :D
P.S £375 is a bit steep;)

Yes the "off the shelf" remap (which can be adjusted for anything even a turbo;) ) did show excellent results on a back to back test. Basically the original is read from the stock ECU and modded accordingly then wrote back to the car, We could also do a complete ECU on an exchange basis which...
I just decided to try Texaco's High Octane instead of Optimax and believe it or not i get more miles from the Texaco stuff! I can't really notice any difference in performance either.

Probably so in a straight line start, the thing you have to remember that the peak torque on the meg is reached at 3000 RPM all the way to the limiter so if you need the power it is there. Both are good cars and i really don't understand why people have these discussions. Bit like saying my...
To compare the Meggy and a clio is wrong as they are totally different cars, i went from a 182 W cup pack to a Megane Trophy and can say both are good in there own way but if driven correctly the Megane would 100% pull away from a clio (if not spinning the wheels!). The handling on the Megane is...
No probs mate, i'm just looking into the manifold at the mo but not quite sure who will make one. Maybe we can get more discount for buying double everything :D . Most of the stuff i should be able to source trade but as you can imagine some of the stuff is a pain!
Paul
Yes agreed, I am currently seeking some low comp forged pistons and possibly going to go the 2.0l route. I am going to try have a tubular manifold made to suite the turbo and spend lots of time doing the build. I'm hoping for a decent result when finished and currently collecting all required...
I think BB use a T28 Turbo. Not sure what to do as neither K-Tec or BB use forged pistons. BB use a thicker head gasket and K-Tec use 2 gaskets and a flat spacer.
Paul
Cheers for the reply mate, I have just managed to pick up a Turbo Technics rebuilt turbo and Dump valve (renno 5) for 100 quid! Just need to get a *****mould made and consider dropping compression on my spare motor. I have a spare Laguna box somewhere which i think is the same as the willy so...
