Turn in is, well epic lol.setup will be checked soon when i do the geo, but more important things on the list at the mo.
As expected it looks to chew tyres up but the steering feel is awesome, and it feels like the front won't ever understeer, and it's on shitty tyres too
I think any petrolhead that has had a car for so long would feel the same Mark.
I still miss my black 172 - I did over 50,000 miles in it, bought it standard and ended up near perfect spec for me - I tried different brakes, suspension, and it was at a point where it suited me perfectly.
Was it...
Funnily enough mate read below:
Update time,
Had about 2 hours on Duf today, I took the ICV of fand gave it a good clean with carb cleaner, followed by some WD40, I cleaned every electrical plug I could find with electrical cleaner, I re-earthed the dash again (Made a better job of it) and...
Shiney shiney! I need to sort the Clifford out too, key fob has fallen apart and Im getting fed up of the light flashing on the steering colomn cowling lol. Going to get that ripped out and a new one installed I think.
Ah, I wondered when the man himself would make an appearence! ;)
Rear end is proper lol, all I can see out the rear window is road!
PM me your contact details mate and il keep you updated on how it goes!
Will have to pop over and say hi once it's a bit more tidy!
I was amazed at the difference with the 172 setup, my last hybrid was very stable but the difference with wide track was noticable, and this even more so again, it is running some camber, il grab some photos to show later. Would benefit from some decent geo mind, but all will be done in good time :)
Plenty enough to have some fun on track with then ;)
they are uber comfortable, willy seats even more so (PS you best be texting me with an update when you get one! ;) )
it pulls well up to the current 7100rpm limiter, but to be honest id rather not be chasing any more revs than that, it has done 107,000 miles now, and im guessing it has never been apart, so id be tempted with a slightly lower limit for safety's sake until I have enough time to pull it out and...
7800? I thought that was a little too high for F7R, then again we are talking about 15 + year old engines that could have been plenty abused and tired in the first place - it's good to hear that if built properly they can last well!
My last 7R was built by Nick Hill, and that was still making...
;)
I have to admit, a standard W back to back with a 1*2 will feel less racy - as you rightly have said, the F4R does need revs to make progress, a standard W does feel a little 'wheasy', which is the breathing modifications with a slighly higher rev limit make a fantastic difference - more so...
Thanks dude, glad to see the R is nice :D
Hmmm, interesting, I have actually tried that, but it just forced itself back up - it might the the icv at fault - il whip that off and give it a good clean - only issue with a car thats been laid up for a while, nothing tends to work again for a bit...
:o
Hmmm, well I have opened it up a few times, but Im still letting it bed in a bit before I give it too much, il try an Italian service and see how it goes Jamie :) PS hows yours?
Cheers mate :o
Well have done another 60 odd miles today, and still all good :)
Been looking at the high idling problem today - when revs drop (ie slowing down to stop at a junction, or a roundabout) when you dip the clutch, the revs go up to circa 2000, then drop to 1300-1500 ish. Also the...
I really have to stop buying Clio's :o
So, even though I have owned pretty much all sporty Clio's, from Mk1 RSi's, 1.8 16v's (2 of them), 16v Hybrids, 172's (3 of them) 182 - I have not owned a Williams.
So when I remembed Dan still had DUF, I offered to buy it, and the rest is history...
Ooh yes please! :D as i said after the last time, the shockers couldnt handle quick steering input, plus the knocking over bumps was annoying lol so should be a good difference now
Ah poo dude, it has been a tough past year, but at least you have changed pretty much everything so fingers crossed its all good now!
I know its hard not to get down hearted but yours is a stunning example, and drives sooooo well, keep with it mate :)
