What I tend to do is make sure all the splines are completely clean use a bit of brake cleaner and a small flat screwdriver to scrape in between the splines. i have used similar grease on splines from time to time and never a had a problem but it's...

    Totally see where you are coming from there, cars going to be off the ground so it's only the sump plug and fitted to remove. What I was getting at is how people come up with silly prices for repairs. I know exactly how Dan feels cause I have to deal with idiots who expect you to repair there...

    Just unplug them, years in the motor trade and I can safely say I have never personally disconnected a battery when doing this for the sheer fact it adds more time to the job and half the time you end up having to put sodding radio codes in afterwards haha
