They'll be many more pictures mate along the way, luckily Mark has a lot of experience with gearboxes and previous JC5 experience unfortunately lol.
Was fairly straight forward coming to pieces but they'll no doubt be some swearing before it's done haha
Well today has been rather eventful even though I got up late after nights.
So first off I checked the camber was set correctly before collecting NorthloopCup and loading up the trophy van with tracking sticks and tooling an setting off to the workshop.
The camber has been set to -2 degrees...
Yeah air leak or vac pipe, check all the inlet manifold bolts where the upper inlet bolts onto the lower as this has to be removed for the spark plugs to be changed.
Also check the map sensor and air temp is connected proper and that the vac pipe that goes to the acoustic valve and the brake...
So after a brew with NorthloopCup this afternoon I set off and thought I'll stick these f*****s on before the missus gets home.
So first off I cracked the top mount nuts on the old sachs dampers
Then cracked off the bottom mounts and pulled them out.
The old trophy sachs, I then cleaned...
Yeah last thing we want is that, especially with the amount of time you spend on your hair ;)
Well got a call off me sister today, another parcel has been delivered she said so I popped on down to me mum and dads to be greeted by these
Koni adjustable dampers for the rear, now the dampening...
Well on Saturday I decided it was about time to refit the sachs now the sunny weather is here.
First off I got them out from under the bed and checked the pressures, all was as expected and they met the requirements recommend by Simon at Cornering Force.
So I popped down the parents and got...
The belts are not exactly rocket science (no different to a zetec se engine in terms of floating pulleys) but it is vital all the correct tooling is used, I've done one today funnily enough.
There is a picture of my tooling, all genuine which is also a must. If all of these haven't been used...
Not doubting that at all Ph1 Tom I was merely questioning the reason behind running the f7 in first place?
I was just highlighting the valve spring and bearing fact which is surely a advantage when comparing a standard f4 and f7?
Yeah something I will no doubt get into but at the minute I have one to many expensive hobbies with me constant car tinkering, mountain biking, gym and then the new fad RC drift cars haha
Yeah I always wanted a Saxo with that horrible wings west kit haha, then I got a job as a mechanic (apprenticeship) and just built a vtr and made it handle even better and built a nice decent spec 8v lump :)
Isn't the f7 a better produced engine in terms of tagged bearings and double valve springs?
Also this seems to have had good results, all be it very expensive

When I moved out my parents and got rid of all me old stuff I totalled up all I had spent on all the old copies of revs, max power, redline and fast and was well over 600 quid!
All bought before I could drive when I had big ambitions of fibreglass and filler haha, then I got a car and just...
Great shots, really fancied having a go at photography but after seeing friends with there dslr's and some of the settings it put me off a little. Plus I've already got a few too many expensive hobbies lol
Back then credit was so easy, my cousin (much older then me) strolled straight into the bank and walked out with 12k loan and bank rolled a whole car build on his 2 year old vtr!
He was only 20ish too and not on the best wage at the time, banks would laugh you off the planet now
