lol like i said in my abive post mate it depends how bad your current manifold is, id say it is worth it as they are not matched from the fa tory, some are ok, some very bad
Matched inlets are a common mod mate, depending on how good/bad your inlets are now will depend on how much power you gain. iv had it done in the past and i think it was worth it but my standard ones were pretty poor
Re: Volkwagen Passat TDi (110bhp) SE Sport Estate
The towbar was fitted around 4 months ago, and has only ever pulled a small trailer to the tip containing garden waste
cant believe you're calling the mk1 garden waste
;)
With how my dephaser sounds mine must have never had an oil change lol
Engine sounds great, not rattles or funny noises, dephaser on the other hand.....
Dont bother with flush, noot needed, and most have stuff in that cause more harm than good.
Fill it up with fresh oil, let it get warm, then drop that oil and put in some decent 5w40 if you are really worried -it will be fine
The dephaser is a oil driven cam pulley as such, it advances and retards the timing (But not for performance like Vtec)
They normally rattle/sound like a diesel when ilding when warm, but the noise should go away once you rev it over 1500 rpm as that is when it should do it's thing as it...
Yup, i need to do a load on this one, but im in rush so hopefully it will turn out quite nice in the end :)
Start stripping the interior this weekend i hope
Small update, steering wheel has arrived (Cheers Rob! x) and a few goodies ordered.
Trying to work out a few things, hopefully il have a good update at the weekend.
My dad used to work for a company who made (Amongst other things) heat shrinkable plastic tubing for the M.O.D., which is...
no mate, the ecu will be able to account for a different filter - though a custom map (NOT 'chipping') would get the best out of it.
Whats the 'N that' but though?
OP, chill out fella, you will always get mixed responces with any mods - some people on here didnt like my Elise due to it being under powered (which it wasnt)
just take it as constructive criticisum and look at what you want to change - at the end of the day its your car so you can do the...
2 of the best are RS Tuning in Leeds and Tour-de-force both worth travelling for.
In fact i travelled from wiltshire to Leeds to RS to have mine mapped and worth every penny
looks very tidy and a good price mate, but just so you know, you have it advertised as a PD - you have an AHF engine in that, which isnt a PD - the pd's were the later engines, with 115/130/150 bhp outputs, where yours is the higher out put of the older engine whivh were 90/110 mainly.
As long as iv read the reg right ( FV58XBG ) then it's beryllium grey met, with a paint code LR7K
You forget I work for VW lol x
Bear in mind there tend to be 2 or 3 different nmes for paints
The thing that would worry me, is with a standard seatbelt in the event of a roll it will let your body move forward/around - harnesses would hold you tighly and near bolt upright and id hate to think what would happen :(
It's a good result mate, most make roughly around 140-145 atw, so your's is bang on.
Good torque figure too, and the power seems progressive with no real lumps
Power atw on the 2nd run looks about right, Dastec usually slightly over read on the flywheel figures but thats still going to be over 175bhp.
Good result.
