Not had a full read mate, i will do over the next few days - looks a good project :)
Unfortunately as mine is the skintiest skint project going il have to be fitting myself lol
Tis a catch 22 mate, £500 would get you one of the best springs (Eibach) and a decent set of matched adjustable shockers (Koni are very good on Clio's) where that is the realistic starting price of budget coil overs - I agree if you want low then coilovers are more appropriate
Disagree, a decent set of springs and shocks are plenty good enough - you dont need coilovers.
How much are we talking mate?
Id probably save a little more and look at something different rather than those two choices, id get some better front pads and new fluid - hate the standard pads
I can imagine mate - just one further thing, are the mounts adjusted right? I had a right night mare with mine, just wondering if one has slipped slightly - from what Danny has said I doubt it, but again im just throwing ideas around
IMO not ness, if there was slight wear on the splines it may not show itself until under heavy load (ie full throttle) with the weight of the car on it. Iv had that issue before, not on a Clio mind, on a VW but just thinking out loud for you really mate :)
J, just to check - it is only under hard acceleration?
So if you drove normally can you feel it?
Was it a gradual thing or did it happen suddenly?
I think it's going to be something fairly simple, my new one does it a little but only under full throttle - feels like mounts to me but iv not...
:o
I was specifically talking about from cold Fred, I used 0-40 as I can get get oil cheap from work, but I saw a noticable increase in oil consumption, and the car sounded rougher from cold, and swapping back to a thicker oil made a big difference -I posted it on my phone and didnt give a...
Hero name tbh lol
Cheers fella, it wont be anyehere near the finish of most, but the plan is to keep the total cost in 3 figures, and that includes everything from cage to brakes/suspension etc. Oh and original car purchase included in that :)
The Titan mate? Opie Oils, did me 5 ltrs with a ltr top up bottle delivered in 48 hours at a cracking price :)
But you can get it elseware too, Opie are just convenient
To give you an idea I try to buy Titan Pro S - all the cars iv used it in they have sounded much healthier, they dont seem to use much and it smells great lol
And I still buy it even though I can buy Shell Helix through work for £1.50 a litre
True mate lol, I was open to whatever car came up that I fancied so I was looking at cheap ITR's, kit cars etc, but when this one came up and we came to a deal I couldn't say no :)
Yeah thats an impressive hole :(
I saw it when it was trailored off Combe, side all caved in :(
Mines a beast lol, check out my new project thread :) Its as cheap as it possibly can be, and im doing everything on the cheap, 2nd hand parts, and seeing what deals I can dig up - selling off...
