yeh directline are crap, i wanted to lower my car and add a ktec induction kit but directline where the cheapest insurance for me by £2-300 so i'm just going to have a standard car for another year unfortunately.
Thats the type of upgrade i'm looking for. The 1.6 has around 45% more BHP but is only 55KG more so it should be a decent upgrade. Especially with the upgraded brakes and suspension.
I think i'll just bide my time keep browsing ebay, autotrader and pistonheads and see if the right car pops...
I supose so but when cars are your hobby its hard to wait another 2+ years to have one you can enjoy, spend time on etc.
Thats why I was looking for an intermediate car.
I would definately want to own a 1*2 in the future but i'm still 18 and was looking for something to tide me over untill then. Next year when i renew my insruance i'll be 19 with 1ncb (hopefully) but i still think insurance will be too expensive. I wouldnt mind a fiesta zetec s but i'm kind of...
I'm thinking of upgrading to a 2004> MK2 1.6 16v. The insurance isnt too bad, only a bit more than my 1.2 16v. I would use it as the basis for a bit of a project, to modify it tastefully over time untill i can afford a proper hot hatch. I also want a mint condition one as my 1.2 16v isnt in the...
Is this the best 182 replica ever?

Rear disk conversion, Climate control, No sunroof etc..
How could you tell...
Well i cudnt find it cheaper so sh*t happens. If my postcode was decent then it would come down by £350. But its a CAT D postcode which is crap, its not that bad of an area either. Cant be helped
I think she's completely in order. Its people like you that let companys like Renault get away with providing crap service. What would you do in her situation then?
Directline wouldnt insure me on a 1.2 TCE yet they will on zetec s's, 1.6 16v clios either MK2 or MK3, makes no sence to me.
I test drove the TCE and enjoyed the drive but it wasnt a worthwhile upgrade for me.
Glad you are happy with the upgrade though mate, its certainly a very nice car...
Going to miss seeing this car around newton/earlstown, it was the best clio on here imo. Would have done similar mods to mine but mine isnt in the best condition and i wouldnt want to start doing so many mods unless it was a minter
I'd say use your own judgement, after a year i trust my car enough to the point where i'd drive it abroad, clio's dont usually break down they just have poor build quality. Where as the mini does neither, i'd take the clio though just a gut feeling it would be better.
I should have gone down either the 1.4/6 or dci 80 route for my first car. Even the dci 65 would be better be better than a 1.2 16v especially with a remap. my 1.2 16v is slow and not that economical.
looking good, would befit from dynamique or sport interior though as the expression one is poor imo.
Mistake number one though - Posting a pic of your gf on here, endless amount of ramarks to come.
Just remap the dci, then it will have 130bhp and be more economical, would make sense to me. I'd have a dci 100 but they are extremely rare and they all seem to have high mileage.
No only the lower speced clio ph2's where in white, and they are rare.
i'd have gone for a 1.6 16v clio in your position, i'd get one myself but i wouldnt want the same car twice just for an extra 35bhp.
not worth the engine swap tbh. Return it to standard in a year then sell up and buy a 172. this swap would cost you nothing where as the swap would cost £2500
Yeh the 16v cdti's remap very well. It must fly, well judging by the astra 888 feature on 5th gear, your car will be almost as quick as a vxr, just not quite. Obviously the 888 will handle better than yours but straight line speed your there.
How do these handle by the way, presuming much...
