    my girlfriends mums got a clio dci 80 dynamique that she borrows. We went to the trafford centre in manchester yesterday which is basically dual carriageway and motorway, so i reset the trip computer to see what mpg it would do. Going 70ish down the motorway for 20miles including parking up etc...

    41 MPG!!!

    I'm getting 40.1MPG out of my 1.2 16V at the minute, over the last 330miles since last friday, that includes a 240mile return motorway trip at 80 on the motorway, 50 Miles of B-road blasting (6K rpm stuff) and 40 miles of my regular commuting, not too bad overall. My normal heavy traffic...

    yeh a mk2 ph 1 1.9Dti, remap to 112 hp and 235 nm which would aid fuel consumption and also help on the motorway.

    The new gen 2 mini's are very efficient. Even the cooper s gets decent mpg. Cooper D is one of the most efficient cars in the country a remap would see 140bhp too

    whats up with the gearing mate? I found it ok in the clio but i'm used to 1.2 gearing, it felt exactly like my 1.2 16v off boost but as soon as you hit 2-3k you can feel the extra torque

    What about a dci 80? very very economical, £35 tax, feel a lot quicker than a 1.2 16v and also the option of a remap to 110bhp, if i was to get another non rs mk2 clio this would probly be the one i go for.

    Try paying £1500ish for a 1.2 16v with little other choice as is the cheapest quote i can find at 18 and i need it for my job. Thats not a good idea!

    also the 80 gets the best mpg not the 65, 65 was just the cheapest model to make hence why it went in the lower models. car makers have to have better engines in higher specs to tempt you into the higher spec otherwise if you could get the 1*2 engine and setup in authentique shel for 7500 then...
