They don't do ktec stealths for dci's. I've never heard of anybody putting nos on a dci. If you went down the dci route then go dci 80/100, remap, coilovers, 16's, big break kit. Why would anybody spend money putting a 1.7d in a 172, the cost involved it would be easier to just run the 172.

I'd say there is a big difference between the 8V and 16V. The 16V is utterly gutless and the 8V is dangerously gutless.

by the time you have changed all the parts etc you'll have spent loads. Buy a 172 for £4-5K for a PH2, PH1's are circa £3k now

I don't know about that mate, I notice no difference in anything no matter what petrol i use. MPG, speed (or lack off), responce etc.

On the other hand I do think the mazda 2 is a very good looking car for just a normal supermini. Suposed to be the best drive out of its group aswell because its lighter than the rest, only weights around 950kg's.

fair comment but all the 1*2/197 owners who modify/tune their cars could then be told to buy an R26. Then R26 owners told to buy a R26 R.............. Maybe he wants the cheap running costs (well insurance) of his 1.6 but wants to have it as a hobby and improve it as much as possible.
