I doubt there is an RS clio in the world that hasnt been ever 5k, my 1.2 16v see's 5k most days always warmed up to temperature 1st and if anything the engine seems better for it.
Probly right, i'd be happy with circa 2K at 19 thought. Doing my IAM test soon and will have a years ncb. Hate insurance tbh, i'd be less likely to crash a 172 becuase it would be my hobby etc and that would make me 10x more careful etc.
Prize to the closest.
Just done a quote for a 172.

Hoping it will come back at £2000 with the IAM on it. Doubt it though.
I doubt i will even be able to get insured at 19 with 1ncb.
I want a sport asap because if i...
Unlucky mate - no exactly how you feel because i did exactly the same thing back in january, wet road, right bend, back out, hit wall. was gutted but its all good now.
Never drivien either but I would say the trophy would be a better purchase as they hold there value better. Although cups are so cheap now that there isnt much money left to lose on them. PH-quicks go for 2500-3000 now and cups can be had for 4500-5000 so they will only lose 1000-2000 in 3 years.
From full to redlight, so around 40 liters last time i filled up i got 350 miles that was @ 40mpg which is around average. Was only getting low 30's when i got it but i used to drive quicker back then. 40's average me now, mixture of town and DC driving.
How do you go about it though, i know you buy the skill for life package and it costs £79 for under 25's. When do you do your training etc then because i work full time mon-fri 9-5.30. I'm realy interested though
I realy just want to be a better driver, in terms of safety and speed.
No point in having a quick car but not driving it well and i want to upgrade my driving before my car.
I was looking into one. briefy, very briefly.
Test drove the 1.2 TCE in the clio then reaised that i'd be much much better off with a derv than a 1.2 turbo in terms of speed, fuel and insurance and tax costs.
Petrols in anything other than a sports model i.e.197, M3, ferarri etc are...
Well tbh i've already crashed once, wet road, not concentrating, overcooked it.
I know i have lots and lots to learn and openly admit it.
So i think in a couple of months i think i'll do it, got a few bills atm i.e. insuance, service, tax, holiday etc.
How much does it cost?
i wouldnt pay £1500 for one when i got my garmin nuvi 200 for £99.99 and its excellent imo. Dont see the point in built in satnav unless its standard on top spec cars etc.
tried the bell group, all £1500 with 850 excesson 10 month policies.
i'm in a cat D postcode aswell.
and its FC, its good compared to my mates quotes so i'm happy.
Has anyone on here got IAM it was something i was looking into doing because at my age (18) i have a lot to learn about driving and what better way to do it.
Is it worth it? how hard is it to go about? oh and expensive?
with direct line @ 18 on my 1.2 16v 2005 clio.
I think this is a good price, couldnt get a cheaper quote. Only starts on the 30th of august but i bought it now to secure the 0% finance.
The major down side is that modifications arnt allowed.
But there is vandalism cover, uninsured driver...
What worris me is my mum and dad had 3 puntos 1 mk1 1mk2 and 1mk2b all from new for 3 years and didnt have a problem atall. Dad has had a fiesta zetec from new (2005) not a problem, no rattling trim etc.
My 2005 clio has had 2 problems in the time i've had it (11 months) of which it took 4...
well there is 20bhp difference for a start mate. 1.4 16v would outshine the 1.6 8v in most ways tbh. I personally don't see advantages to 8v except they are cheaper to produce hence why they are in the lower spec models.
16v FTW.
Although there where plenty of good 8v cars but most of them...
Bloody ABS sensor in my car has broken again. Only 8 months after i got it repaired last time. Aswell as creaking steering wheel and rattling trim.
Absolute shite. Only renault i would own again would be a 182 simply because i have always wanted one since joining this site and it would be...
The 1.6T engine will never happen in this current clio. Renault don't currently make or have access to a 1.6T so it would have to be developed from scratch. Although i think it would be a good idea as it could be used to replace the exisiting 1.8 16v 2.0 16v and 2.0T (165bhp not 225) engines in...
Please, on a serious note though its a credit crunch beating car, although that isnt my main proirity, my next car will be less economical than my current one.
p.s. i tried to bid £20 and got outbid straight away, hopefully someones put a decent bid in.
Best of luck with the sale mate, car looks well looked after
car looks amazing, but i would lose the exhuast trim not meaning to cause offence as its your car and you must like it but, it reminds me of the exhaust trim from halfords that grandads put on thier 1.3 escort encore
