Been having a bit of funny steering feel over the past few thousand miles ,well after some close investigation, my bloody rack bushes are fooked again, they have alny done about 15,000 (admitidly hard) miles.
Poly bushes will be found and see if they help
If its purely a track Clio and it gets used regularly and hard, expect to rebuilt a box roughly once a year.
I can imagine its not something your too happy about, but at least it didnt happen at 100mph on track! lol
I expect the plug holes will be full of water, you need to get that out (dont take the plugs out to do it)
You can contaminate the plugs and leads by getting them soaked.
It may dry out over night, in lamens terms the electrical bit of the body may have got wet.
To be honest, the boxes are known to be weak, but last well if you heel and toe, I think your problem is its not been having that previous to you owning it.
If you have the money to spend then a stronger box will be a good plan, but it will be big ££ and for how fairly easy the box is to...
When I tested the air pressure in the mani, at full throttle the inlet want full, so in theory a larger t/b would allow more air in. But the problem is due to the larger opening, the car will be getting x amount more air, and tend to be very snappy as your getting more air in.
And as Danny...
Im very hard on my brakes, and running close to 200 bhp, what are these like for fast road/track use guys? Im looking for a new brake upgrade to try, running Pugsport discs, and 1144's at the mo, and they are pretty good, but do fade.
Seems a great deal :D
(for us lol)
Seriously good luck with the sale mate, I cant imagine it being for sale for very long, anyone wanting a fast road/track car its perfect.
I still think you will keep it lol
Custom map for £150 in 2 hours?
Best advise my friend - walk away.
Go see Paul at RS Tuning, he will get the best out of your motor and is worth every penny.
Edit, i see Pauls posted lol
First thing I would want to know is is it a chip, or a full custom map? As that is silly cheap for a custom map, and realistically it can take a good few hours to do a proper custom map, so id bet its a 'chip'
If its a chip, id want to know who is supplying it (ie superchips etc) or if its...
It doesnt fit on the tb mate, it fits into the plenam(sp) though obviously I dont have a plenam as such any more lol.
Speak to Tom from Wests on here, brilliant price and came next day - great service.
Pmsl!!
Cheers fella, its getting there, and yeah I thought f**k it, its the way to get a great inlet temp reading lol
Oh, the air temp sensor is also new (Thanks Tom at Wests!) as a precausion
And id like to just say the points again:
136,000 miles
Still has the cat in
Still under development
Still manages fantastic fuel consumption
No dash lights on
Full use of all ECU and dash functions
Update:
Before heading up to RS Tuning, I thought id do a bit of fiddling and see if I could improve things.
So I thought Id move the air temp sensor. Normally these are mounted into the air filter, but as Im not running a filter with a back plate and wont be for a while, I thought id try...
