lol no worries matey.
The engine is a further development of the 1*2 engine, so although I dont know exactly what the internals are like, im guessing it will be about the same develpment right.
In my opinion, if itb's cause a blow up then the engine either was fooked to begin with or bad...
I can tell you from experience you drive off at a track day without shutting a Mk1 Clio's bonnet, it will raise up and block your view! ;) lucky for me I was able to stop and put it down properly, (:o) but I never thought a bonnet that opens forward could lift, but the air speed through the bay...
Just a quick question matey, as I may be reading this wrong, but the graph above looks like to me that boost level spikes to just over 2.2 bar, then drops to 1.9 bar, or am I seeing that wrong?
Its just with 286bhp at 0.7 bar, to go to 317 at over 2 bar, it doesnt seem like much of a power...
lol id check the codes on the box then mate, see if you definately have the right box, there is no difference between the cup boxes so cant be anything like that
Yes mate, the Heynes will say somwhere I expect
Edit, unless im having the biggest blonde moment ever, the pump should be getting constant 12v.
Id also check the state of the wires going into the plug, as if there is any corrosion in it, it will cause a break and cut the pump.
Id lean away from the pump, id test the voltage to the pump, make sure its not getting some freaky high voltage, then if the voltage is right then keep tesing ehile the cars running, to make sure the voltage isnt spiking.
From there if alls right, id say the fuel pressure would have to be huge...
Problem is it might not be the pump, and you might kill that one fella, has the car done a lot of miles on the first pump? im not sure how yours runs being in a mk1, is your FPR in the tank?
How many times have you tried getting it to top speed mate?
To be honest id like to be its simply the car is not running quite right when you have tried it, it could be that the latest run the air was hotter, maybe tyre pressures down a little, more/less fuel, different stretch of road, or...
Hmmm, one thing it could be is the pump isnt getting too high a voltage is it mate? that can kill the pump, also what about fuel pressure? As high pressure can kill a pump quickly?
Course it could be 3 dodgy pumps, unlucky but could happen
Hi and welcome mate :)
You need to leave the existing ECU in place, to run the dash (rev counter, speedo etc) but splice out the wiring for the engine and run that to the emerald. It is a fiddly job, but not super difficult, have a read through a few other itb threads as mine is unique in how...
You may have to buy a cable matey.
Id lean towards an earth, one may have worked loose, maybe that tap at the ring worked one slightly loose? Stranger things have happened lol
Lol cheers Neil, though im afriad you wont beat me on price, if I told you exacly how much it cost me, you would fall off your chair!
I was lucky to get a good deal on the Jenveys, which helped.
Definately get your own thread up and running though! :)
The reason why I havent bothered with...
The popping from the itb's is fuel bearing back through, nothing to worry about there mate, how do you know there is fuel in the rail?
Check all your earth straps, im not 100% on Omex, but every electrical component must have a good earth
Depends, you can buy just the valve unit off ebay, or the whole thing from Renault mate.
You might get away with cleaning it out with carb cleaner but rarely works.
Just thought id say, its your car so if your happy then fair play mate :)
But a ram air pipe to that filter will not do anything at all. Nothing.
The air speed in that engine bay will be so fast when driving that no cold air will get sucked in, it really is wasting your time.
Mine might be coming off the road for the winter too, all depends if I can get a lock-up sorted by then for my business, as my garage is too small to do any work on the Clio :(
I say fair play to wanting to keep it mate.
I can see the points about selling it, but as you owe it outright, your not loosing money buy not using it, and if we were all bothered about resale value all the time we wouldnt be driving 5,7 or 10 year old Clios! lol
Get it SORN'd, tidy it up...
Hi will,
Thank you very much for your kind words :)
To be honest, im not quite sure on the ph2 models. I havent looked at the tps, as long as they are the same as the PH1, then I cant see you will need anything more than a ph1 throttle cable, the securing clips and a ph1 throttle pedal...
