Small update:
Well its been a bit quiet on the clio front the past few weeks, Iv been getting used to the ARB, it really is a fantastic bit of kit, but my business has been a little hectic over the past week, so the clio has been resided to the garage for a rest.
Im toying with the idea...
It depends on what its had over the last few services mate.
Engine wise, you can change:
Oil filter
Oil (obviously lol)
Air filter
Spark plugs - plenham off job, not hard but fiddly if you not done it before - dont do the plenham bolts up tight!
Fuel filter - this originally wasnt required...
Oh, as per my last PM, I bet its the rack bushes, but if that creak is still there then check the gearbox mount stud is tight, mine works loose periodically and causes a creak/crack noise
be aware Pauls rollers are known to be very accurate,so out right power might not be as much as your expecting, but i will guarrantee he will get the best out of it.
Other places might say you will get 'X' amount extra, dont listen to any of that b****cks, just take it that it will be more...
RS Tuning most definately, to give you a good idea of how good he is, he mapped my itb'd clio on the standard ECU, which said it couldnt be done, and Paul did it with no worries at all :)
Paul at RS Tuning all the way
As Danny has said, it should be that the owner of the car will claime on his insurance for his vehicle, and his insurance company should cover any damage that vehicle has caused, regardless who was driving as it will be claimed under the theft rulings
My opinion Mr colshe.
The facts (in my opinion)
1. Do you need the money? - No
2. Do you need the space? - No
3. Is it fooked? - No
These are very important points mate.
You have lost emthusiasm with it due to things out of your control. Look at your first post, a big issue for you...
Sorry fella, it seems to work very well on mine?
Runs nice, gets 35mpg and makes 192 bhp on RS Tunings rollers on 135k.
Each to their own opinion and all that, but I think if done in a correct way it works well :)
Agree with you on the 182 ecu thing, I have no idea how much it takes off...
The orginal MK1 racers used a ph1 type airbox, with modification it fits.
also hill powers old indcuction kit that moves the filter to the scuttle where the washer bottle is is a good one too though HP isnt trading any more :(
oh Hai :)
I used the standard ECU, but my ph1 has throttle cable, so no fbw to worry about, iv not looked into the ph2 ecu, i know its fundamentally the same as the ph1, but I cant guarrantee it will work.
I did have a funny 5 mins about selling it, but unless someone makes me a stupid offer, I cant see me ever selling it.
Iv had it for near 4 years, iv done a good 40,000 + miles in it, I know every single inch of the car ,whats been replaced, what needs replacing, etc.
I want another toy...
Mine is now near 136,000 miles, and im on itb's and its 192 bhp at the mo, going back for another mapping session next month, so hoping for 195 bhp
Fitting itb's is nice, mines knocked a second off my 0-60 time, and I dont need as much revs to get going as it has a lot more torque lower down...
Nope, can't bear to do it mate, still got plans for another toy, just need to do a few things first.
Its good mate, you can have a look when I actually mange to get to see you lol
Now in my garage as im pulling a few bits to pieces.
MAP tank sprayed, and now drying.
Wipers sprayed as they were looking tatty
And im doing something with this
More to come tomorrow
Yes, it is on top mate, you need to take the nut off the middle of it, you will porbably have to clamp the mount with something, I used an air gun to shock the bolt to undo it.
Then undo the two smaller ones, make sure you have a trolley jack under the box as it will drop down.
You will need...
Thats how the Clio ones are all designed matey, even the Whiteline ones.
Agreed, it would look neater if it would attach to something else, but im assuming that must be the best place tension wise?
No mate, was designed this way, gives a shorter link to make it stiffer, though the option of turning the bracket the other way and having a longer link is available also.
