Thats what I thought, but i ve just done a vehicle check on it and this ones a 2000, and very nice it is too.
I ve got my eye on fubars old one, this one has a longlife and ph2 lights, fubars has standard lights and a prospeed.
Mines had a replacement windscreen got the reciept in the folder from the last owner, stone chip in the line of vision.
Maybe the sport badge as some people like to debadge their cars to make them look understated, although it is yellow..... May have been nicked and put on a 1.2.
In a few years time you need to get something with a V12 to put that plate on mate! Only thing is im struggling to think of something newer than 1999 that has a V12.....
The pic of the engine gave it away for me.
Like you say its not like sticking a 2.0 badge on it. Saying you have a 1.2 16v when its actually a 1.2 8v is like saying you have chlamydia when you have gonorrhea!! LOL!
Theres one on here for £3500 with 117k.......
I would have said around £3k private as I reckon the one above is abit steep.
Your not going to sell it on here though cos there a tight lot and everyone knows how much you paid for it though. From what I can see the condition is stunning for the miles.
Love the white ph1.
The Zetec's look much better with the standard wheels, can't for the life of me think why you would change them.
Christopher's car is perfect!
Very nice, minter.
PMSL at parking on the inlaws lawn. Im a nightmare driving on grass can't resist pulling up the handy and giving it some opposite lock!
A garage offered me £2500 trade in a week ago on my 2001 1.2 16v expression which has 57k on it. That was £2500 standard I keep my alloys.
Private I reckon I can get £3k for it.
Has one of those tacky covers on it because I imagine underneith its a typical 172 steering wheel. Id rather have the knackered steering wheel on show to be honest, I would be worried you would turn into a corner and the cover would turn and the steering wheel wouldnt.
Tell me about it, feel like a right tit, its your fault for persuading me to test drive it. Now every trip I make in the car I go via bloody bridge street to see if its still there, even if im going in the opposite direction!
I reckon I could get it for £4.5k knowing how much he paid for it...
There seems to be a fair bit of variation in prices for the ph1 172's, I know a fair few people on here have bought one in the last year or so, I was wondering if you could share your knowledge.
I have noticed that the sunflowers in particular go for more as do the mars? red ones.
I will have...
I hate it when you forget about an ebay auction, get home and the auction has ended and the item went for much less than you were willing to pay, its the same as seeing a hottie in a club that you have had your eye on for a few weeks pulling someone else!
I would have had two sets at £310!
Lol, will do, very pleased with them thanks, not sure they deserve a thread, but judging by Al's latest anything goes. Will get some pics up when I hoover it out.
Good photos, I forgot about this, I would have gone aswell, not really into fiberglass but it looks like there was some proper metal there aswell this year.
I made the mistake of buying a brand new set of alloys and tyres, whilst I like them and they look ok, for the money I could have had a good set of second hand 172ff alloys which would have looked better.
All the other parts on my car I have changed I bought secondhand (repeaters, dash inserts...
Looking mint, silver is growing on me, where abouts in hampshire are you just out of interest, because I keep seeing a 172FF around my way thats silver.
I think you may have been rumbled as he told me the new owner had traded it in for a 'burnt orange' 182 lol.
Its £1k overpriced in my opinion and you cant tell if the belts been done or not, so the lack of reciept would prove a good bargaining tool.
Lol, I was abit intimidated by it to be...
