Right, so a small amp to run some 6.5's in the rear (is there enough depth in there to fit subs in the standard locations??) and leave the head unit to run the fronts?? Or run the fronts off the amp too??? The 6x9 ideas a nogo, as is any kind of boot mounted sub in a box (the boots small enough...
Thats along the lines of what I was thinking, id need an aftermarket HU to run the filters too, wouldnt I? As you say, the fronts seem alright for what they are, just think the rears could be contributing a lot more than they are.......
Aye?? tbh, im not looking to lose my boot space for a sub etc, but there seems to be no decent bass (im gong through a bit of a metal phase at the minute) are there any speakers I could swap my rears for to help the low end, if i were to get a decent head unit?
Cool, so standard HU hasnt got the capacity to run anything other than the stock setup?? Im assuming the upper dash would have to come off to get at the tweeters... Is it a pain of a job?? or easy enough???
Hi all, not long had my 182, and have noticed that the stereo is a bit quiet and tinny, has the standard head unit got the capacity to run more powerful speakers (thinking of replacing the stock ones) or will i need a new HU and amp to do this?? Im considering replacing the rears with a decent...
So from what I can gather on here, yozza is for go if you dont mind a bit of noise, rs192 is cheaper/quieter but still well made. Has anyone got pricing info on all the aftermarket options for a 182, perhaps with reviews based on actual experience?? Im half convinced to go for the rs192 due to...
Has anyone got any good tips on how to remove stickers from bodywork without scratching the paint?? My 182 has a sticker on the bonnet that id like to remove, but dont want to go attacking it with hard, sharp implements incase I damage the paintwork.......
I Am Drunk. But You Are A Full r****d.
Listen to everyone on here, no one wants you to get fucked over, hence they advise you to get youre car sorted properly by someone who knows what theyre doing............ Jesus fella, you could have saved yourself a mint, but you ignored everyone. Now...
£9k on a clio???? How??? Anyway, The phrase, buy cheap, buy twice springs to mind in this situation, and youve found out the hard way. Best bet would be to get the money together to get it looked at by a SPECIALIST (youre lucky enough to have one local, im not!). As mentioned above, get hold of...
Aye, was thinking used cat & RS192. BTB looks v.nice but is very pricey, cant seem to find a website that sells a yozza, though ive heard that theyre a bit loud???? unless they do a quiet one for a 182??
Hi all, im looking to replace my decat and butchered oe exhaust (centre box removed) with a cat and cat back stainless system. Where would be the best place to get a cat (assuming a new renault one will cost a fortune, so probably a used one) and which exhaust would people recommend (yozza...
Fella, take a look through some of Icarus, Fred and RStunings posts, maybe even do a bit of research into their businesses. Then youll realise why people have been giving you, off the shelf 'chips' and whoever claims there awesomeness, a bit of stick.
If you want honest answers, based on fact...
All depends what youre using it for and what you want/need from a car really, does it need to be the best B road/trackday 'drivers car', or does it need to be 'a bird magnet', or does it need to be newer than the next guys car???? I think nowadays were spoilt for choice in a lot of ways, because...
Depends, get one with a good spec/colour and the only time youll find it wanting is if you like racing against people in the street. Look out for xenons, heated screen and leather, they were pretty much the only optional extras they did, and I do regret not getting one with a heated screen...

Depends on youre criteria..... Outright performance- Clio (its miles better power to weight-wise) Build quality/Interior/Quality 'feel' -Focus.
I currently run an ST170, and driving it in isolation, down a 'decent' road is great fun. Its powerful enough, the gearbox is great and the ratios mean...
Last I checked, you'll struggle to fit a pinto into a stock fiesta floorpan............... Engine wise, for me, it'd be a big capacity crossflow with all the bells and whistles (v.expensive though), or a zetec conversion(better vfm, pick whichever engine suits you're budget).
Unlucky fella. If I were in youre shoes, the last thing on my mind would be trying to run a car thats gonna cost much to buy/run/insure. get a cheap shed for about £500 and insure that tpf&t and try not to crash it. Give it a few years and youll have paid off the loan and have enough no claims...
