Right, well I am afraid my test drive never happenned.
Went to the dealer, and he took me out to see some of the cars. The one he seemed REALLY keen on selling me was a 1.6 special edition of some sort. I told him I was only interested in the 1.8. However, the special edition one looked VERY...
Haha, well i expected this response.
Its by no means a done deal though, i mean a 182 is a BLOODY hard act to follow! I'll still have a go of it just to see what its like, but stepping from a car with 180 bhp into one with just over 130 bhp i would imagine is bound to feel a little slow and...
OK, this ISNT a typical versus thread, it isnt about a race or anything, I just want opinions.
Basically as much as I like the 182, and boy I really do like it, I just fancy something a bit different, and have been looking at the MX5, in 1.8 form. I just fancy something RWD, and the fact its a...
Seems a lot of people here dont really have a clue what they are talking about. I am always seeing storys of heavier cars with 50 more bhp "absoutely destroying" the clio and stuff like that.
Some people have had actual experience having "fun" with cars on the road.
My mate "had fun" with an...
Took the car to my dealer (Benfield Renault at Newcastle Scotswood Road) and so far I have had good service.
My car is 18 months old and one problem i took it in for is exhaust rattling -well they just rang me up and told me they are replacing the whole exhaust - now considering the warranty...
Except those who want to not only enjoy driving, but actually feel in control of what their car is doing. Too many modern cars undoubtedly fast and safe, but also totally boring and dull.
I can see myself keeping my car for a long time, because frankly I refuse to get myself into debt for one...
Most of the hot hatches now out or on the horizon are just too soft, and too luxurious. I know the 172/182 are pretty soft also compared to the older stuff, but I've had one of the older hatches and to be fair the 172/182 are like a modern/old school hybrid for me - they have the best of both...
I always thought the point of the cup was for a more raw, involving drive, ala old school. Shedding weight is a great way to improve handling, and speed.... FWIW I very much respect the Cup as being probably the drivers clio (as well as the trophy).
I know what you are saying, but it just...
Oh yes!
Funny the guy in the lead car says he was going fairly leisurely, and everyone else were driving like armed robbers trying to keep up!
And yeah I was one of the odd ones out, but there was a mondeo and a clio 1.2 there as well.... and to be fair, nobody had a bad word to say about...
To be fair, since we stayed under ahem *** mph most of the time, I could at least keep them in sight :D and in the twisties, no problems! Mind you there was a chap in a 1.2 clio behind me, and he really did struggle! But he made it to the end nevertheless!!
To be fair though you could tell...
OK not literally, but i was "making progress" the other day, and the windscreen wiper almost started to look like it was going to snap off!
Please tell me the windscreen wipers wont fly off when i am making progress!
I dont get why some people get so worked up over a few tenths of a second.
Look, we all own one of the best drivers hatchbacks of recent times. Be proud of your Renault Sport, whichever derivative it may be.
Same here.
I actually had a DERV and got rid of it because i found myself in the upper half of the rev counter all the time, which in a DERV is somewhat pointless and defeating the purpose.
Sometimes I feel antisocial sitting behind people with the engine on cam waiting for them to pull over...
Its not so much the fact its been ragged senseless thats the problem - its more the fact it'll have been ragged FROM COLD. That causes so much wear, and will probably result in a car that uses lots of oil and will have a shorter lifespan.
In other words, I might if the price was right, but the...
Gotta agree with you guys here, i had a Fabia vRS (which seemingly according to many people nowadays is the fastest car on earth, can easily humble a Veyron)....
Anyway, back in the real world, the only way it would keep up with a well driven RS is with a remap - as standard, no chance. They...
Do you get the cakes with it? If so, that might swing it for me ;)
The orbisound would be nice - if i have a spare £900 or so then I might consider it, although that seems unlikely at the moment :dapprove:
Just did that, and as you say, it does seem to have stopped it now. In fact subjectively it seems like i can turn it up more now and it seems to sound a little better too.
I would have thought the engine was designed to be used like this. As long as its warmed up, i cant see any problem with it. Put it this way, as soon as mine gets warmed up, it gets driven to 7000 revs as regularly as I can (although obviously it helps if you can get out of the town for this).
