I have just finished creating some iPhone compatible web galleries but can only test it on my 3GS. I would like to know how they display on the iPhone 4 & iPad, so if somebody could check the two below links and take a screen shot for me, it would be greatly appreciated.
Both links go to the...
You have to install ultrasn0w for the unlock. There is a guide here.
The second screen is just your sim pin lock screen. You will have to enter the pin number for the simcard to use it.
FD only work on really old film cameras, the more recent ones were also EF. You can buy a converter but you will not have AF and the quality does not really warrant the hassle TBH. For a tiny bit extra cash you could get the 1.8 with AF.
I would think that 800 should be fine on your camera, especially if you get the exposure correct, but I have not used a 500D so could not be sure. 1/1000 is taking it a bit far too TBH, as you would freeze all motion in the shot.
If you are doing panning shots, then a slower shutter speed is...
You were on ISO 100 with a shutter speed of 1/125. You could have bumped the ISO up to 400 or even 800 to increase the shutter speed (1/500 or 1/1000 respectively).
Shutter priority mode will help you out a lot for motorsports as that is the factor that you want to control the most.
I'd get a case that you can put different drives into. I gave up buying external drives now and just have a case with an e-sata connection that has a screwless drive swap. I can quickly backup all data and take the disc off site, then use the case for another drive in the meantime. Saves money...
I had the same problem with my Dell laptop running 1920x1200 on my 24" monitor. The image was off to the side and I could not sort it no matter what I tried. I gave up in the end after messing around with everything I could think of for 30 minutes.
Finally managed to have a play with one of these tonight. It felt good and there is no way to tell that the body is constructed any differently from a 40/50D.
The only fragile/ plasticy bit is the flip out screen.
The 800L and 1DIV made up for it though. :)
+1 on Revels comments. My wifes little Ixus does better job in full auto than my 5DII would sometimes. It does an amazing job with exposure and fill flash etc. That said, a DLSR will get shots that a compact won't be able to and the quality of the images is a level above.
If you are going to...
In low light you are limited by the f4 aperture which just means that you will have to bump your ISO up to compensate. As you will be using it for sports and the subject will probably be moving, IS wont help you much either so the L still comes up trumps.
If you are using it outdoors, lack of IS should not be a problem. The difference of 200-300mm is also well within "cropability" so I shouldn't worry about the 100mm.
The build and glass quality more than justify the £100, plus you get a big white tube on the end of your camera that makes you...
Another vote for Linksys from me. I tried Belkin, sitcom and SMC and had problems with all of them. The Linksys WRT610N solved all my issues. Great kit.
Open up some raw files in Adobe Lightroom to get a very clear idea of what you can do. I only shoot RAW these days as I use Lightroom to manage my catalogue so it makes no difference for me.
File sizes are rather large but 1TB drives can be had for just over 50 quid so it is manageable for me...
It depends if you ever find yourself wishing that you had more to hold onto or whether the extra time spent adjusting certain settings really affects your shots. I loved my jump from the 350D to the 40D, but can still happily use a 350D when I need to these days.
You wont find a huge leap in...
Ken Rockwell also writes reviews...... just saying.
John, just go with the best that you can afford for a balance of glass and camera. Anything less and you'll just kick yourself later and upgrade anyway.
I honestly don't think that you will see a huge difference between an image from a 60D...
Whoever you spoke to was wrong. If my 5DII can track a moving object then the 60D will do just fine. The 5D has a pretty basic AF system FYI!! Perhaps they meant that it wouldn't do it through live view? The 7D won't do it either AFAIK.
That said, if you can afford it, then the 7 is clearly...
I thought the same way about full frame until I tried it. I then sold all my old EF-S glass and made the jump. The difference in quality makes it well worth the hassle and investment IMHO. But I regularly pixel peep and bin shots that are not sharp at 100%. Other people don't worry about it so...
Sounds like a nice camera. I'll see if i can borrow one and give it a test. The xxD range is never a huge jump up from the xxxDs. They just offer better ergonomics and a couple of nice features.
Once the new model premium is dropped it'll probably be easier to justify it's existance.
