I gave the Rallye a good hand polish today. I didn't intend to go OTT, as I have a PC in the post, and planned to have a major session when that arrived, but I still ended up outside for 5hrs+.

106 Rallye Series 2. Left hand drive imported from Germany. Only 3 Black S2s in the UK, as far as...
Rallyes are 1.6 8v 840kg 103bhp
Gtis are 1.6 16v 920kg 120bhp IIRC
There were 500 series 2 Rallyes in white and blue, although I have an imported black one ;)
There are pro's and con's. Some speaker co's only allow single wiring as they don't belive in bi-wiring/amping. In theory the cones could be out of phase using sep. amps as the resistance/impedance over each cone differs.
It's pre/power that's separating the power section, which I think you...
Not really. To generalise... two £500 amps or one decent £1k amp - I'd rather have the more expensive one, as it's likely better quality components are used...
Arcam and Cyrus are a very different sound. Cyrus is forward and detailed, Arcam is very smooth. It depends on the type of music you listen to as to what's best. I suspect you want Cyrus due to the mag reviews, which are all crap, I might add.
Thanks again for the advice.
With the clutch it almost felt like it was grinding a bit as I lifted it, although it wasn't slipping.
Oh I don't know. I'll wait and see what happens. My 106 is good and runs perfect so there's no rush to change at the moment. :)
Thanks for all the feedback.
At the moment I'm only looking at the bottom prices in the market.
If they're all rubbish I may have to leave it for now and wait until I can get a newer one.
It's suprising though, as my 106s have all been 10yrs old and felt great...

This forum is so anti Clio :rasp:
How much is a clutch change?
Is a sticky throttle cable just a broken cable of something more?
Is there anything at the back that breaks apart from dampers and bearings?
:D:D
A decent 172 will be a bit quicker and a bit nicer though, and if I got a good PX deal would be worthwhile.
I've had 106s for years now and fancy a change. Apart from the 172 I can't think of anything else.
I viewed a 172 Phase 1 earlier. 50k miles, cam belt already changed at 40k.
The guy is looking to downgrade, so I was going to give him my standard and great condition 106 Gti (56k) plus some cash.
His car was generally quite nice but there were some things that bothered me:

Hi, geeks. I need some help.
My poor girlfriend's Norton anti-virus has expired and a window pops up about every 10seconds to remind her about it, and basically trying to get her to pay to renew.
Is there a way this can be disabled?
We are not going to pay for Norton again, as I'll install...
