I've got the Clark wiered one and hardly use it.
I thought I liked the idea of just using an extension cable but it's just hassle. And to be honest it can't undo most tight bolts on the Clio anyway so found myself having to use a rachet and spanners any way.
Hi guys, I want to order some silvatec bulbs for my front indicator bulbs to get rid of the fried egg look.
Are these the correct ones? I assume 581 is the correct fit...
The alarm light next to the gear stick.
Assume it's fitted as standard as it works from the standard key and works the same as the Alarm on my 182 did.
my alarm light has been coming on and off during driving but recently it will come on and stay on until I stop the car and lock it.
Where is the Alarm? I'm thinking of checking for a dodgy connection somewhere but not even sure where the thing is to start looking
Anybody has this before?
The olive joint doesn't have a gasket, use high temp silicone and a good clamp.
I wouldn't bother with the labda fooler, itl still fail an emissions test anyway so either put up with the light and turn it off when you put the cat back on for the MOT or a remap can stop the light coming on.
I...
Trial and error.
When I took my linkage off I found it easier to sort by putting the stick to where 5th should be and gearbox into 5th using the selector arm and then nipping the little pinch bolt up. Got it right after about 3 goes
My only worry is getting the cut out right for the 182 trim.
My stealth isn't stealth anyway the pipe sits out about half inch whatever I do so would prefer the recessed look even if it sounds no better
I'm doing that! How much would a welder charge to sort do it?
Assuming it's not a massive job for an experienced welder.
Cutting the bumper worries me though!
Sounds to me like poor throttle and clutch control when setting off and not judging the conditions.
It's easy to get the wheels to spin up in one of these, especially in the current weather we are having.
Do you guys take any extra precautions in the winter after driving in gritted roads?
I was at working the other day and the trailer the caretakers use for getting grit around the site is basically rotting to pieces and made me realise how bad the stuff is on our cars.
I've seen on YouTube some...
If it's the standard olive joint yeh they are a pain.
I used plenty of high temp black silicone and then clamped around it on my old 182, never had a blow.
Used one of these sort of clamps https://goo.gl/images/D1mk3G
Does anybody know the paint code for the standard 172 wheels? Not the turinis, the normal Renault ones.
I'm going to have a bash at refurbing my wheels but was hoping to have a go at 1 first incase I'm useless at it, so was hoping to get it a matching colour so it doesn't look a cocomplete arse...
Looks awesome that. How much did it cost? What tip did you use?
I wish I'd just bought the recessed in the first placed by liked the idea of a stealth at the Time
Take the clutch cable off the lever on the gearbox, press the clutch pedal down and pull it back up a few times and then re attach the cable. Might sort it as the clutch is auto adjusting.
No it's not to be expected as the clutch and cam belt are completely unrelated
I like the sound of that!
I also like the idea of a recessed tip.
Could a stealth back box be modded to look like a recessed and fit into a cut out in the bumper?
Some Yokohama something or other on the front, and Goodyear on the rear, the fronts were directional so I could only swap front to rear which didn't help, so it must have just been a combination of all 4 been crap and unevenly worn.
The avons so far seem brilliant, haven't really pushed them...
Well I thought I'd update this for anybody with similar issues.
Replaced all 4 tyres with brand new avon zv7s and now the car is perfectly.
That's 2 issues I've had now which has come down to crap tyres so please, anybody with a similar issue, before spending a tonne on new parts, maybe borrow...
